Background: Iron deficiency is the most common cause of anemia in many developing countries including India. Inadequate iron in diet, poor iron absorption, excessive bleeding, or chronic blood loss in the stool/ urine may be the cause.

We report a novel homozygous pathogenic PGAP3 variant (c.202dupT; p.Cys68fs*2) in a child with hyperphosphatasia and severe neurodevelopmental impairment. Elevated alkaline phosphatase guided diagnosis, expanding the genotypic and phenotypic spectrum of PGAP3‐related HPMRS.

Pleural Infection as the First Presentation of a Large Retroperitoneal Abscess
This case report describes an 81‐year‐old male patient with an empyema secondary to a retroperitoneal abscess. He was found to have a large hiatus hernia and communication between the retroperitoneal and pleural spaces via a diaphragmatic defect.
