ABSTRACT Incorporating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions as an undesirable output of agricultural production in a directional distance function provides a better understanding of agricultural production performance. Based on balanced panel data from 126 prefecture‐level regions in the Yangtze River Basin in China, we employed a quadratic directional ...

ABSTRACT Objective Eclampsia is associated with short‐ and long‐term neurological deficits. Identifying which women may be at risk is important. Magnetic resonance imaging shows an incidence of 30%–40% of subclinical cerebral infarcts among women with eclampsia. A simple screening tool would be useful to identify at‐risk women.

Abstract Roux‐en‐Y gastric bypass (RYGB) is an effective surgical intervention for severe obesity, but the role of gastrointestinal hormones in its benefits remains unclear. We examined longitudinal pre‐to‐post‐meal gastrointestinal hormone changes and their relationships with glucose homeostasis and feeding‐related cognitive responses in women ...

Viologen derivatives are employed to tackle BPNS oxidation challenges through a noncovalent strategy. Comprehensive characterization techniques, complemented by DFT calculations, provide detailed insights into these interactions. Notably, XPS analysis reveals that MV‐BPNS hybrids experience minimal oxidation under ambient conditions, highlighting the ...

Background Subclinical hypomanic symptoms are fairly common in the general population but are linked to psychiatric and neurodevelopmental conditions. However, the genetic and environmental origins of these associations are unclear. This twin study examined the phenotypic and aetiological associations between subclinical hypomania and psychiatric and ...

Structure‐ and Ligand‐Based Discovery of Novel 3‐Chymotrypsin‐Like Protease Nonpeptidomimetic Hits
A multistep virtual screening cascade, integrating shape‐based, ensemble docking, and quantitative structure–activity relationship (QSAR) models, was employed to screen 1.5 million compounds. This funnel identified a novel 3‐chymotrypsin‐like protease (3CLpro) inhibitor, LabMol‐499, which was experimentally validated using a Förster Resonance Energy ...

Abstract The development of advanced absorbents for effectively capturing carbon dioxide is crucial in mitigating greenhouse gas emissions. This study introduced a series of deep eutectic solvents (DESs) for CO2 capture and identified the most promising DESs with the stepwise screening method based on their absorption capacity, absorption rate, thermal

PPy‐Coated Wire Actuators for the Micromechanostimulation of Cells: Fabrication and Characterization
“Ouch!” That's what we say when someone pushes us. Cells do the same. They sense mechanical cues and trigger downstream signals shaping physiological and pathological responses. While the basics of mechanotransduction are known, many pathways remain unexplored.
