Chemical evolution of local galaxies in a hierarchical model

open access: yes, 2009
We investigate the chemical properties of local galaxies within a cosmological framework in the hierarchical picture of galaxy formation. To this aim, we use a hierarchical semi-analytic model which includes the contribution from (i) low and intermediate

Regeneration of Shorea spp. in the Seed Sources of KHDTK Haurbentes. Bogor District

open access: yesJurnal Perbenihan Tanaman Hutan, 2017
The role and function of forest area with special purpose (KHDTK) Haurbentes among other are the source of seeds and germplasm of Shorea spp. The information of the potency and dominance of Shorea spp. in KHDTK Haurbentes was indispensable in formulating

Escape from TGF‐β‐induced senescence promotes aggressive hallmarks in epithelial hepatocellular carcinoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Chronic TGF‐β exposure drives epithelial HCC cells from a senescent state to a TGF‐β resistant mesenchymal phenotype. This transition is characterized by the loss of Smad3‐mediated signaling, escape from senescence, enhanced invasiveness and metastatic potential, and upregulation of key resistance modulators such as MARK1 and GRM8, ultimately promoting

Fossil Imprints of the First Generation Supernova Ejecta in Extremely Metal-Deficient Stars

open access: yes, 1998
Using results of nucleosynthesis calculations for theoretical core-collapse supernova models with various progenitor's masses, it is shown that abundance patterns of C, Mg, Si, Ca, and H seen in extremely metal-deficient stars with [Fe/H] < -2.5 follow ...

ShcD adaptor protein drives invasion of triple negative breast cancer cells by aberrant activation of EGFR signaling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.

High-temperature ferroelectric order and magnetic field-cooled effect driven magnetoelectric coupling in R2BaCuO5 (R= Er, Dy, Sm)

open access: yes, 2019
The high-temperature ferroelectric order and a remarkable magnetoelectric effect driven by the magnetic field cooling are reported in R2BaCuO5 (R = Er, Dy, Sm) series.

Three-Dimensional Time-Series Monitoring of Maize Canopy Structure Using Rail-Driven Plant Phenotyping Platform in Field

open access: yesAgriculture
The spatial and temporal dynamics of crop canopy structure are influenced by cultivar, environment, and crop management practices. However, continuous and automatic monitoring of crop canopy structure is still challenging.

Targeting the AKT/mTOR pathway attenuates the metastatic potential of colorectal carcinoma circulating tumor cells in a murine xenotransplantation model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dual targeting of AKT and mTOR using MK2206 and RAD001 reduces tumor burden in an intracardiac colon cancer circulating tumor cell xenotransplantation model. Analysis of AKT isoform‐specific knockdowns in CTC‐MCC‐41 reveals differentially regulated proteins and phospho‐proteins by liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry. Circulating tumor cells

Magnetic enhancement of Co$_{0.2}$Zn$_{0.8}$Fe$_2$O$_4$ spinel oxide by mechanical milling

open access: yes, 2002
We report the magnetic properties of mechanically milled Co$_{0.2}$Zn$_{0.8}$Fe$_2$O$_4$ spinel oxide. After 24 hours milling of the bulk sample, the XRD spectra show nanostructure with average particle size $\approx$ 20 nm. The as milled sample shows an
