Iterative intra prediction search for H.265/HEVC
2013 International Siberian Conference on Control and Communications (SIBCON), 2013Emerging video compression standard H.265/HEVC provides up to 2 times better compression efficiency compared to H.264/AVC standard. However, it has higher computational complexity. In this paper, we propose iterative intra prediction search for H.265/HEVC encoder to reduce the number of prediction modes for estimation.

Multi-Layer Quantization Control for Quality-Constrained H.265/HEVC
IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2017Achieving a stable video quality is an important task in video compression. In this paper, we present a multi-layer quantization control method to compress video to a certain target video quality based on the new hierarchical partition structure of H.265/HEVC.

Programmable 28nm coprocessor for HEVC/H.265 in-loop filters
2016 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2016High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) in-loop filtering includes the deblocking filter (DF) and the sample adaptive offset filter which consume about 20% of the total HEVC de coding time. In this paper a very energy efficient programmable multicore coprocessor for HEVC in-loop filtering is proposed. The coprosessor is placed and routed using leading edge

An Optimized Rate Control for Low-Delay H.265/HEVC
IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2019In this paper, an optimized Coding Tree Unit (CTU)-level rate control approach is proposed for low-delay high efficiency video coding (H.265/HEVC). Unlike the traditional explicitly estimated rate-distortion (R-D) model, the distributions of parameters of the estimated R-D model are considered.

CNN-based rate-distortion modeling for H.265/HEVC
2017 IEEE Visual Communications and Image Processing (VCIP), 2017In this paper, we propose a convolutional neural network (CNN)-based rate-distortion (R-D) modeling method for H.265/HEVC. A fully convolutional neural network (CNN) is designed to learn end-to-end, pixels-to-pixels mappings from the original images to the structural similarity (SSIM) maps indicating distortion.

Analiza performansi H.265 kodera [PDF]
Main problem of Internet is streaming multimedia content over the network. Raw video size is too big, so it has to be converted to another format before streaming over the network. Analysis of H.265 coder shows basic steps and methods of encoding. It contains explanations of some basic terms, like coder or video files.

Efficient video resolution adaptation using scalable H.265/HEVC
2013 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing, 2013Dynamically changing the spatial resolution in a video conferencing session is useful for seamlessly adapting the bitrate to changing network conditions and for improving the user experience. Similar to earlier standards, the emerging High Efficiency Video Coding (H.265/HEVC) standard does not allow prediction across different resolutions, so an ...

Comparative Performance Issues with H.264 vs H.265
2019 International Conference on Machine Learning, Big Data, Cloud and Parallel Computing (COMITCon), 2019The modernistic video compression standard evolved through a mutual team of two organizations on Video Coding known as (JCT-VC) is H.265 (High Efficiency Video Coding Standard). The main goal of H.265 is to provide the double data compression and diminish half bit-rate as contrast to H.264/AVC standard by preserving its equivalent video quality.
