Towards Nickel‐Catalysed Olefin Metathesis: A Computational Study of Nickelacyclobutane Fragmentation Reactions

open access: yesHelvetica Chimica Acta, EarlyView.
Abstract A detailed picture of the reactivity of metallacyclobutanes is key to the understanding and development of new reactions relying on these reactive intermediates, including olefin metathesis and cyclopropanation. More than 40 years ago, Miyashita and Grubbs reported experimental studies on the thermal decomposition pathways of a phosphine ...

Rapid CRISPR‐Cas13a genetic identification enables new opportunities for listed Chinook salmon management

open access: yesMolecular Ecology Resources, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Accurate taxonomic identification is foundational for effective species monitoring and management. When visual identifications are infeasible or inaccurate, genetic approaches provide a reliable alternative. However, these approaches are sometimes less viable (e.g., need for near real‐time results, remote locations, funding concerns, molecular

Effect of display luminance and ambient illuminance on the perceived quality of indoor environment images

open access: yesJournal of the Society for Information Display, EarlyView.
In a psychophysical experiment, participants evaluated the quality (preference, visual complexity, visual clarity, colorfulness, and visual interest) of images of indoor environments under different display luminance (50 cd/m2 and 250 cd/m2) and ambient illuminance (50 lx, 150 lx, 450 lx, and 900 lx) conditions.
