We have found evidence of behavioural barriers for both hybridization and disease transmission between European wildcats and domestic cats. This includes hierarchical interspecies exclusion enforced by wildcats, as well as sexual selection exerted by wildcat females.

ABSTRACT Oceanographic and ecological conditions can be used to inform forecasts and decision‐making for marine resources, but the dominant drivers of recruitment variability remain poorly understood for many fish stocks. We developed a conceptual life‐history model of the oceanographic and ecological variables that influence the recruitment of ...

Layered Radial Aquifer Model for Open‐Pit Mine Closure with Managed Aquifer Recharge
A radially symmetric layered aquifer model (unconfined–aquitard–confined) coupled to a pit‐lake water balance is developed to screen managed aquifer recharge (MAR) after open‐pit mine closure. Dimensionless type curves quantify trade‐offs between pit recovery time, pumping/recycling, and unconfined mounding as functions of aquifer time scales, aquitard

Fluctuations of Rectangular Young Diagrams of Interlacing Wigner Eigenvalues
We prove a new CLT for the difference of linear eigenvalue statistics of a Wigner random matrix $H$ and its minor $\hat H$ and find that the fluctuation is much smaller than the fluctuations of the individual linear statistics, as a consequence of the ...

ABSTRACT Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly used to support language learning, yet little is known about how younger learners accept and engage with AI‐assisted reading. This study investigates primary school students’ acceptance of and engagement with an AI‐supported adaptive reading application for English as a Foreign Language (EFL ...

Friedmann limits of rotating hypersurface-homogeneous dust models
The existence of Friedmann limits is systematically investigated for all the hypersurface-homogeneous rotating dust models, presented in previous papers by this author. Limiting transitions that involve a change of the Bianchi type are included.

Abstract This article interrogates the national courts' pre‐emptive opinions expressed in the Article 267 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union preliminary reference procedure from both theoretical and analytical angles. First, we theorise about the variety of factors influencing national courts' decision to supply the Court of Justice

Two state scattering problem to Multi-channel scattering problem: Analytically solvable model
Starting from few simple examples we have proposed a general method for finding an exact analytical solution for the two state scattering problem in presence of a delta function coupling.

ABSTRACT Rachiplusia nu, known as the sunflower looper (SFL) and belonging to the Plusiinae subfamily, is a major defoliator of soybeans, sunflowers and other horticultural crops across southern South America. This species has recently expanded to central and northern regions of Brazil, becoming a key soybean pest.

Molecular correlations and solvation in simple fluids
We study the molecular correlations in a lattice model of a solution of a low-solubility solute, with emphasis on how the thermodynamics is reflected in the correlation functions.
