Clinical study of a trivalent subunit influenza vaccine containing antigens of the (H1N1)-subtype
Comparative Immunology, Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, 1980Abstract The sera of volunteers under the age of 25 immunized with influenza subunit vaccine were tested for hemagglutination inhibiting antibodies against the antigens A/U.S.S.R. 92/77 (H1N1), A/Texas/1/77 (H3N2), and B/Hong Kong/8/73 contained in the vaccine.

Subtype specific ELISA for the detection of Antibodies against influenza A H1N1 and H3N2 in swine
Journal of Virological Methods, 1993A subtype specific ELISA using purified hemagglutinin (HA) from influenza A H1N1 and H3N2 was developed to detect antibodies present in swine previously exposed to either H1N1 or H3N2 influenza viruses. The HA was extracted using the detergent octylglucoside followed by ion exchange chromatography.

The high mutation rate of influenza virus, combined with the increasing worldwide use of influenza virus-specific drugs, allows the selection of viruses that are resistant to the currently available antiviral medications. Therefore, reliable tests for the rapid detection of drug-resistant influenza virus strains are required.

Interferons (IFNs) are critically important in the control of influenza A virus infections. To better understand the pathogenic characteristics of the pandemic 2009 H1N1 influenza virus (pH1N1) from an innate immunity viewpoint, we investigated whether in vitro pH1N1 is sensitive to the antiviral activity of IFN beta, leukocyte IFN alpha, and several ...

April 2009 witnessed the emergence of a novel H1N1 influenza A virus infecting the human population. Currently, pandemic and seasonal influenza viruses are co-circulating in human populations. Understanding the course of the emerging pandemic virus is important. It is still unknown how the novel virus co-circulates with or outcompetes seasonal viruses.

[The rescue of H1N1 subtype swine influenza virus].
Sheng wu gong cheng xue bao = Chinese journal of biotechnology, 2009The swine influenza virus (SIV) strain A/Swine/TianJin/01/2004(H1N1) (A/S/TJ/04) was rescued successfully by an eight-plasmid rescue system. The cDNAs of SIV 8 gene segments were synthesized by RT-PCR and cloned into the RNA polymerase I/II bidirection expression vector PHW2000 independently, resulting in 8 recombinant plasmids.
