Hydrothermal Synthesis of Foshagite (fiber) (4 CaO 3 Si02 H20)

open access: bronzeNIPPON KAGAKU KAISHI, 1972
Foshagite fiber was synthesized hydrothermally from mixtures of Ca(OH)2 or CaCO3 and Si02 chemicals at temperatures ranging from 350 to 900°C under water vapor pressures of 10 to 1000 atm for maximum two weeks, using a test-tube type bomb or autoclave. The mixture was charged in a Pt-capsule.

Harnessing Physiological Shear Stress in a Perfusion Bioreactor for Enhanced Endothelialization of Small‐Diameter Vascular Grafts

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Traditional static culture provides limited physiological relevance for evaluation of vascular grafts. A perfusion bioreactor system can provide more accurate in vitro model for evaluation of vascular grafts, exposing endothelial cells on 3D structure to physiological or pathological shear stress.

CALR Type 1‐Like Mutations Increase Endoplasmic Reticulum Free Ca2+ and Induce ERK1/2 Activation Independent of Thrombopoietin Receptor Activation

open access: yesCell Biology International, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Calreticulin is a multifunctional protein found in the endoplasmic reticulum lumen that is important for calcium homeostasis and glycoprotein folding. Mutations in exon 9 of the CALR gene are the second most common genetic cause of myeloproliferative neoplasms.

Dynamics of primary cilia in endothelial and mesenchymal cells throughout mouse lung development

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Cilia are specialized structures found on a variety of mammalian cells, with variable roles in the transduction of mechanical and biological signals (by primary cilia, PC), as well as in the generation of fluid flow (by motile cilia). Their critical role in the establishment of a left–right axis in early development is well described, as well ...

Cigarette taxation and consumption in The Czech Republic. Have these factors influenced tax revenue?

open access: yesFinancial Internet Quarterly
The article evaluates the development of the tax burden on cigarettes in the Czech Republic from 1993 to the end of 2023. Tax burden is represented by effective tax rate. The research results show that the tax burden on these products is still increasing.

Degree of Phosphorous Saturation in Intensively Cultivated Soils in Sri Lanka

open access: yesTropical Agricultural Research, 2011
The loss of Phosphorous (P) from intensively cultivated soil is one of the major causes of reducing water quality. The Degree of Phosphorous Saturation (DPS) which relates the extractable P of a soil to its P adsorption capacity is a good indicator of ...

Growth differentiation factor‐15 and N‐terminal pro‐BNP in acute heart failure with preserved ejection fraction

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 888-899, April 2025.
Abstract Aims Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) continues to be an increasingly common health problem associated with a high mortality rate. Elevated levels of Growth differentiation factor‐15 (GDF15) and N‐terminal pro‐brain natriuretic peptide (NT‐proBNP) are reportedly associated with poor clinical outcomes in a broad range of ...

Impact of H in H2O thermal scattering data on criticality calculation: uncertainty and adjustment

open access: yesEPJ Nuclear Sciences & Technologies, 2022
In this paper, the impact of the thermal scattering data for H in H20 is estimated on criticality benchmarks, based on the variations of the CAB model parameters. The Total Monte Carlo method for uncertainty propagation is applied for 63 keff criticality
