Convergent Evolution and De Novo Reconstitution of Apiin Biosynthesis
ABSTRACT Apiin, an active flavonoid apioside, occurs in phylogenetically distant plants, such as parsley and chilli pepper (Capsicum annuum L.). Its sporadic distribution suggests the existence of convergent apiin biosynthesis; however, the molecular mechanisms underlying this convergence remain unclear.

lntracluster rearrangement of protonated nitric acid: Infrared spectroscopic studies of H^+(HNO_3)(H_2O)_n [PDF]
Infrared spectra of clusters of protonated nitric acid and water exhibit a marked change with cluster size, indicating that an intracluster reaction occurs with sufficient solvation.

Comparison of the Usefulness of Covered and Uncovered Laser‐cut Metal Stents
ABSTRACT Objectives This study aimed to evaluate the clinical characteristics of laser‐cut self‐expandable metal stents (SEMS) and to compare the outcomes between covered and uncovered laser‐cut SEMS for malignant distal biliary obstruction (MDBO). Methods A multicenter retrospective analysis was conducted across eight Japanese university hospitals ...

Scattering of thermal He beams by crossed atomic and molecular beams. IV. Spherically symmetric intermolecular potentials for He+ CH_4, NH_3, H_2O, SF_6 [PDF]
Differential scattering cross sections are measured for He+CH_4, NH_3, H_2O, and SF_6, using the crossed molecular beams technique. These data, which are sensitive to the van der Waals attractive minima and adjacent regions of the intermolecular ...

Static Axially Symmetric Einstein-Yang-Mills-Dilaton Solutions: II.Black Hole Solutions
We discuss the new class of static axially symmetric black hole solutions obtained recently in Einstein-Yang-Mills and Einstein-Yang-Mills-dilaton theory. These black hole solutions are asymptotically flat and they possess a regular event horizon.

Non‐Invasive, High‐Resolution (1H2O) Metabolic Activity Diffusion Imaging [MADI] of Rat Glioma
We employed Metabolic Activity Diffusion Imaging [MADI] and 18FDG‐PET in rats with syngeneic RG2 glioblastoma brain tumors. MADI quantifies kio (the cellular H2O efflux rate constant), cell volume (V), and cell density (ρ), without the use of contrast agents. The kioV product quantifies the rate of water efflux per cell.

Constraints on parameters of models with extra dimension from primordial nucleosynthesis
5D models with one 3D brane and one infinite extra dimension are studied. Matter is confined to the brane, gravity extends to the bulk. Models with positive and negative tension of the brane are studied.

Measuring Dry Mouth in Older People in Residential Care
ABSTRACT Aims To investigate and describe the concordance between salivary flow rates and xerostomia among older dependent adults, describe the association between medication use and dry mouth, and describe the impact of dry mouth on oral health‐related quality of life (OHRQoL).
