High photon flux table-top coherent extreme ultraviolet source

open access: yes, 2014
High harmonic generation (HHG) enables extreme ultraviolet radiation with table-top setups. Its exceptional properties, such as coherence and (sub)-femtosecond pulse durations, have led to a diversity of applications.

Tax and credit aids to industrial development in Southern Italy. Reply to comment by Dr. Kauffman

open access: yesPSL Quarterly Review, 2014
In this brief note, the authors respond K.M. Kauffman’s comment on the methodology used in their article “Tax and Credit Aids to Industrial Development in Southern Italy”. It is argued that Kauffman’s “correct method” still involves certain difficulties.

Lower trade credit payment delays as a result of exclusion from tax deductible expenses

open access: yesInternational Journal of Management and Economics
This article tests whether excluding late and long payments from deductible expenses shortens days payable outstanding (DPO). We exploit a natural experiment of increasing the income tax base resulting from liabilities overdue for more than 30 days and ...

(Biphenyl-2-yl)bromidobis(2-methyltetrahydrofuran-[kappa]O)magnesium(II) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In the title Grignard reagent, [MgBr(C12H9)(C5H10O)2], the Mg centre adopts a distorted tetrahedral MgCO2Br arrangement. The dihedral angle between the two aromatic rings of the biphenyl residue is 44.00 (14)°. Each molecule incorporates one R- and one S-

Experimental study of thin part vibration modes in machining [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The machining of thin walls generally generates milling chatter, that damage surface roughness and manufacturing tools. Stability lobes which include natural frequencies are successful in case of tool chatter.

Metastable spin textures and Nambu-Goldstone modes of a ferromagnetic spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensate confined in a ring trap

open access: yes, 2014
We investigate the metastability of a ferromagnetic spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensate confined in a quasi-one-dimensional rotating ring trap by solving the spin-1 Gross-Pitaevskii equation. We find analytical solutions that exhibit spin textures.

Theory of the 2S-2P Lamb shift and 2S hyperfine splitting in muonic hydrogen

open access: yes, 2012
The 7 standard deviations between the proton rms charge radius from muonic hydrogen and the CODATA-10 value from hydrogen spectroscopy and electron-scattering has caused considerable discussions.
