Comparison of cutting mechanism when machining micro and nano-particles reinforced SiC/Al metal matrix composites [PDF]
Recently, metal matrix composites (MMCs) reinforced with nano-particles receive increasing attention from academia and industries. The cutting mechanism of nano MMCs is believed to be different when compared to composites reinforced with micro particles.

The shear behavior of reinforced concrete beams with different types of fibers
The influence of apertures on the structural behavior of large-scale hollow section RC beams requires immediate investigation. Specifically wider apertures, which might greatly lower the weight and expense of the RC beams.

Highly transparent liquid marble in liquid (HT-LMIL) as 3D miniaturized reactor for real-time bio-/chemical assays [PDF]
Traditional liquid marbles (LMs), are liquid droplets encapsulated by hydrophobic particles offering special three-dimensional (3D) stereo-architectures with structurally and functionally confined environments. However, the particle armors impede optical

A Primer on Regulatory Budgets
A new and novel approach to controlling regulatory costs is the concept of the regulatory budget. This concept would require that governments account for regulatory expenditures in a similar way to fiscal expenditures.

NFI transcription factors are important regulators of embryonic development. Here, we show that PIN1 can interact with each NFI family member via their N‐terminal DBD domain. The PIN1–NFIB interaction is phosphorylation‐dependent; overexpression of PIN1 represses NFIB‐induced transcription while increasing the abundance of NFIB.
