3D Conjugated Nonflat Biphenyl Side Chains: Their Exclusive Role in Inducing Negative Electrostatic Potential in Efficient Organic Solar Cells

A nonfullerene acceptor named BPY, featuring 3D biphenyl side chains, is developed to reduce nonradiative energy loss in organic solar cells. The improved dipole moments, negatively charged surface electrostatic potential, and proper morphology of BPY enhance charge dynamics and reduce nonradiative recombination, enabling high‐performance OSCs with PM6:
