Engineering Microbial Particles for Next‐Generation Biomedical Platforms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Microbe‐derived particles (MDPs), which include extracellular vesicles, outer membrane vesicles, inclusion bodies, polysaccharide particles, and virus‐like particles, represent a rapidly expanding category of bioinspired nanomaterials. With their natural origin, intrinsic biocompatibility, and highly programmable functionality, MDPs serve as a ...

Treatment Outcome for Gastric Mucosa-Associated Lymphoid Tissue Lymphoma according to Helicobacter pylori Infection Status: A Single-Center Experience

open access: yesGut and Liver, 2014
Background/AimsHelicobacter pylori eradication therapy has been used as a first-line treatment for H. pylori-positive gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma. However, the management strategy for H. pylori-negative MALT lymphoma remains

Disrupting Helicobacter pylori Iron Homeostasis With Bismuth Nanodrug‐Mediated Nutritional Trap for Targeted Gastric Infection Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A “nutritional trap” strategy centered on disrupting bacterial iron homeostasis is proposed. The synthesized Bi‐TP@FU (TBF) can target Helicobacter pylori, interfere with the bacterial iron uptake and utilization processes to disrupt its iron homeostasis, induce bacterial death, and meanwhile preserve the balance of the intestinal flora.

Review of Gastrointestinal Capsule Robots: Materials, Actuation, Diagnostics, and Therapeutics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review examines gastrointestinal capsule robots through a systems engineering lens, covering shell materials, actuation and localization strategies, diagnostic modalities, therapeutic interventions, and commercialization status. By mapping the complete technological chain from fabrication to clinical deployment, this work identifies critical gaps ...

Helicobacter pylori and the management of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This thesis is centred on the current controversy and possible links between H. pylori and GORD and whether the infection should be eradicated in those requiring long PPIs.

Deciphering Anti‐Cancer Drug Efficacy Through Nanomechanical Vibrations in Living Gastric Cancer Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study developed an efficacy assessment platform that integrates patient‐derived gastric cancer organoids, atomic force microscopy (AFM)‐based nanomechanical vibration detection, deep learning analysis, and organoid mechanical modeling. It detects picomolar drug effects within 0.1 s signal, achieves 97% classification accuracy, and offers non ...

Helicobacter pylori colonization and oral health in children [PDF]

open access: yesRomanian Journal of Medical Practice, 2017
Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a microaerophilic gram-negative bacterium infecting approximately one half of the world’s population. The oral cavity and dental plaque may be a reservoir for H. pylori infection. Diagnosis of H.

Helicobacter pylori virulence factors in duodenal ulceration: A primary cause or a secondary infection causing chronicity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Reports from countries with a high prevalence of Helicobacter pylori. (H pylori) infection do not show a proportionately high prevalence of duodenal ulceration, suggesting the possibility that H pylori cannot be a primary cause of duodenal ulceration. It
