Haar Wavelet Collocation Method for Thermal Analysis of Porous Fin with Temperature-dependent Thermal Conductivity and Internal Heat Generation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied and Computational Mechanics, 2017
In this study, the thermal performance analysis of porous fin with temperature-dependent thermal conductivity and internal heat generation is carried out using Haar wavelet collocation method.

A Multiscale Guide to Brownian Motion

open access: yes, 2015
We revise the Levy's construction of Brownian motion as a simple though still rigorous approach to operate with various Gaussian processes. A Brownian path is explicitly constructed as a linear combination of wavelet-based "geometrical features" at ...

Can You Have It All? How Employees' Whole‐Life Perspective Relates to Role Performance Evaluations

open access: yesJournal of Organizational Behavior, Volume 47, Issue 1, Page 44-65, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Seeking satisfaction and success in work and other life domains (i.e., pursuing a career with a whole‐life perspective) is important for many employees, yet its effects are not fully understood. We integrate signaling theory with boundary theory and the work–home resources model to investigate how and when an employee's whole‐life perspective ...

Convolutional recurrent U‐net for cardiac cine MRI reconstruction via effective spatio‐temporal feature exploitation

open access: yesMedical Physics, Volume 53, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Background Cardiac Cine Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) provides dynamic visualization of the heart's structure and function but is hindered by slow acquisition, requiring repeated breath‐holds that challenge sick patients. Accelerated imaging can mitigate these issues but potentially reduce spatial and temporal resolution.

A Novel Lightweight and High‐Performance Detection Framework for Signal Detection in Wideband Spectrogram

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 62, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
With the proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, broadband signal detection in low‐signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR) non‐cooperative environments presents significant challenges. This letter proposes two lightweight modules integrated into the YOLOv8 framework, which effectively reduces computational complexity while improving detection accuracy ...

Haar–Fisz Estimation of Evolutionary Wavelet Spectra [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B: Statistical Methodology, 2006
SummaryWe propose a new ‘Haar–Fisz’ technique for estimating the time-varying, piecewise constant local variance of a locally stationary Gaussian time series. We apply our technique to the estimation of the spectral structure in the locally stationary wavelet model. Our method combines Haar wavelets and the variance stabilizing Fisz transform.

A Robust Reversible Watermarking Algorithm Resistant to Geometric Attacks Based on Tchebichef Moments

open access: yesIET Image Processing, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper presents a robust reversible watermarking algorithm based on Chebyshev moments, employing a two‐stage embedding mechanism. The proposed method leverages image block partitioning to embed the copyright watermark and the reversible watermark into non‐overlapping regions located inside and outside the inscribed circle of the image, respectively.

Close Encounters of the Binary Kind: Signal Reconstruction Guarantees for Compressive Hadamard Sampling With Haar Wavelet Basis [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2019
We investigate the problems of 1-D and 2-D signal recovery from subsampled Hadamard measurements using Haar wavelet as a sparsity inducing prior. These problems are of interest in, e.g., computational imaging applications relying on optical multiplexing ...

Comparison of wavelet approximation order in different smoothness spaces

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2006
In linear approximation by wavelet, we approximate a given function by a finite term from the wavelet series. The approximation order is improved if the order of smoothness of the given function is improved, discussed by Cohen (2003), DeVore (1998), and ...
