Wavelet transform‐based AFM enables real‐time nanoscale imaging by applying wavelet analysis to raw cantilever deflection signals. It reveals non‐linear, transient and multi‐frequency dynamics beyond conventional steady‐state methods. Integrated with adaptive filtering and digital twin modelling, it produces high‐resolution, information‐rich maps of ...

Fault Strike Detection Using Satellite Gravity Data Decomposition by Discrete Wavelets: A Case Study from Iran [PDF]
Estimating the gravity anomaly causative bodies boundary can facilitate the gravity field interpretation. In this paper, 2D discrete wavelet transform (DWT) is employed as a method to delineate the boundary of the gravity anomaly sources.

The Haar wavelet characterization of weighted Herz spaces and greediness of the Haar wavelet basis
The authors study the class of dyadic \(A_p\)-weights in connection with dyadic maximal operators (where in both cases on considers dyadic cubes only) and show that one obtains results corresponding to the ones one gets for the usual \(A_p\)-weights and maximal operators.

Computing consensus: Language ideological work in LLM‐assisted deliberative democracy
Abstract This article examines how the digital platform Polis and its experiments with large language models (LLMs) reconfigure democratic participation through a particular vision of consensus. Through analysis of media coverage of Polis and developers' public discussions of the platform, I argue that developers reframe consensus from a discursive ...

Limitations of ITA for Skin Type Estimation Under Uncontrolled Imaging Conditions
ABSTRACT Background Accurately assessing skin color diversity is essential for evaluating whether image datasets without explicit skin type labels are sufficiently diverse for training deep learning models. Traditional methods, such as the Fitzpatrick scale, categorize skin types into six discrete classes but may not fully capture the complexity of ...

Abstract Background Deep learning has become a dominant paradigm for low‐dose computed tomography (LDCT) image reconstruction. Nevertheless, existing approaches still struggle to simultaneously achieve accurate structural detail preservation and computational efficiency, particularly when handling long‐range contextual dependencies. Purpose To design a

Sparse orthogonal matrices and the Haar wavelet
The authors discuss the sparsity of orthogonal matrices which have a column of nonzero entries. It is shown that the minimun number of nonzero entries in such a matrix of size \(m\times m\) is \[ (\lfloor m\rfloor +3)m-2^{\lfloor m\rfloor+1}. \] This is optimal, as the paper characterizes the matrices which achieve this number.

Enhancing Volatility Prediction: A Wavelet‐Based Hierarchical Forecast Reconciliation Approach
ABSTRACT Forecasting realized volatility (RV) has been widely studied, with numerous techniques developed to enhance predictive accuracy. Among these techniques, the use of RV decompositions based on intraday asset returns has been applied. However, the use of a frequency‐based decomposition, which provides unique insights into the dynamics of RV ...
