Modular experimental shelter in semi-arid climates. Response to housing emergency situations
In the context of housing emergency situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the study of possible responses to crisis scenarios has been revisited. The experimental development of an emergency shelter is proposed to expand the availability of space in ...

EMG‐Driven Telemetry and Inference System for Fish: Pose Reconstruction and Flow Sensing
This work introduces an electromyography (EMG)‐driven telemetry framework that reconstructs body pose and infers hydrodynamic conditions in freely swimming fish. A custom 16‐channel archival system records intramuscular EMG, enabling deep‐learning models to decode joint kinematics, classify flow regimes, and reveal channel‐efficient sensing strategies.

DNA‐mimic for Specific Surface Functionalization of Zr‐MOFs for Bacterial Targeting
We introduce phosphotyrosine‐modified PNA as a superior, single‐step post‐synthesis surface coating for PCN‐222. The DNA mimic allows for controlled post‐functionalization with single‐stranded DNA for the attachment of protein moieties for bacterial targeting. ABSTRACT Nanosized metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are versatile platforms used in biomedical

Diatom‐Inspired 1D Immobile Robots Capable of 2D Collective Mobility
This study presents a diatom‐inspired robotic system that explores group coordination through limited physical interactions. The researchers tune groups of Barbots, simple robotic agents that possess neither individual mobility nor explicit communication capabilities, to achieve complex and adaptive collaboration based on environmental light.

Fossil-dominated secondary organic aerosol (SOA) formation in coastal China: size-divergent pathways of aqueous Fenton reactions versus gas-phase volatile organic compound (VOC) autoxidation [PDF]
Elucidating size-dependent formation mechanisms of secondary organic aerosols (SOAs) remains a critical research gap in atmospheric chemistry. Here, we analyzed water-soluble compounds in size-segregated aerosol samples (0.056–18 µm) collected at a ...

Cteno‐Bot: An Untethered Metachronally Swimming Robot With Magnetoactive Propulsors
We present Cteno‐bot, an untethered ctenophore‐inspired robot which swims using metachronally coordinated appendages. A single mechanism controls up to 216 magnetoactive propulsors via a dynamically varying magnetic field. We show that the swimming speed of the robot can be increased without a corresponding increase in power requirement, simply by ...

Abstract Germany's Renewable Energy Sources Act (REA), enacted in 2000 and subsequently amended, subsidized national renewable energy production with fixed feed‐in tariffs for renewable energy sources (RE) from wind, solar, and biogas. Empirical studies suggest that the policy was creating windfall effects for landowners and attribute farmland use ...

High‐elevation endemic plants predicted to lose habitat from changing climate in Washington State
Abstract Premise High‐elevation plants face unique challenges from potential climate change impacts that will likely require upslope migration into increasingly smaller suitable habitat. This situation is particularly acute for endemic species that by definition occupy small geographic ranges.
