Heterogeneous Time Preferences - The Preferred Habitat Theory Revisited
2000As a first application of the general theory to the theory of the term structure, I study the Preferred Habitat Theory advanced by Modigliani and Sutch [50]. Modigliani and Sutch were primarily concerned with an empirical investigation of the effects of a particular policy of the US government and Federal Reserve, “Operation Twist”, which aimed at ...

pH-preferences and habitat selection in carabid beetles
Oecologia, 1984Seven species of carabid beetles were examined in different "pH-Orgeln" for pH-preferences. Five of these species showed significant preferences for specific pH-fields. Presumably, this parameter of distribution found in the laboratory is also effective in the field.

Habitat distribution and habitat preference in Barbary macaques (Macaca sylvanus)
International Journal of Primatology, 1984Barbary macaques (Macaca sylvanus,L.) occur at varying densities in a number of different habitat types in Morocco and Algeria. Taub (1977) has argued that the abundance of the species in cedar forests of the Moyen Atlas, Morocco, is an indication of a habitat preference.

Habitat preferences of aphidophagous coccinellids [Coleoptera]
Entomophaga, 1985From May to July 1982 and 1983, coccinellids were sampled in habitats that differed in aphid density, insolation, and host plant type. The number of adults ofCoccinella 7-punctata (CS),C. 5-punctata (CQ),Propylea 14-punctata (PQ),Adonia variegata (AV),Adalia bipunctata (AB),A. 10-punctata (AD), andCalvia 14-guttata (CA) were recorded.

Habitat preservation and restoration: Do homebuyers have preferences for quality habitat?
Ecological Economics, 2009Abstract This research examines homebuyers' preferences for nearby riparian habitat, an important issue because quality riparian habitat competes for water resources with other activities in semi-arid regions and because federal and local governments allocate significant resources to riparian habitat preservation and restoration plans.

Tropical Forest Healers and Habitat Preference
Economic Botany, 1996Tropical forests represent repositories of medicinal plant species and indigenous ethnomedical knowledge. These biotic and cognitive resources are threatened by forest removal and culture change. It has, however, yet to be demonstrated quantitatively that tropical pharmacopoeias are concentrated in primary as opposed to disturbed forests, nor that folk

Habitat Preferences of Woodcock in Southwestern Quebec
The Journal of Wildlife Management, 1976Habitat preferences of American woodcock (Philohela minor) were studied in southwestern Quebec between April and November 1972. Courtship territories on fields averaged 0.4 ha and were at least 80.5 m apart. Woody vegetation influenced utilization of fields during and after the breeding season. Coverage by woody vegetation over 0.9 m tall was between 4

Habitat preferences of ptarmigan hunters in Norway
European Journal of Wildlife Research, 2009Hunting for willow ptarmigan (Lagopus lagopus) is a popular recreational activity in Norway, but studies of the hunters are limited. While large game management in Norway is based on sound models and research, management of small game hunters and hunting have not been subject to the same rigour.
