The Climate of the MIS-13 Interglacial according to HadCM3 [PDF]
The climate of the Marine Isotopic Stage 13 (MIS-13) is explored in the fully coupled atmosphere–ocean general circulation model the Hadley Centre Coupled Model, version 3 (HadCM3). It is found that the strong insolation forcing at the time imposed a strengthened land–ocean thermal contrast, resulting in an intensified summer monsoon over Asia.

Freshwater transports in HadCM3
Climate Dynamics, 2003The hydrological cycle can influence climate through a great variety of processes. A good representation of the hydrological cycle in climate models is therefore crucial. Attempts to analyse the global hydrological cycle are hampered by a deficiency of suitable observations, particularly over the oceans.

Climate change and predicting future temperature in Iraq using CanESM2 and HadCM3 modeling
Modeling Earth Systems and Environment, 2020Climate change and global warming have become a major environmental threat, especially for dry countries. Identifying and assessing future climate change are, therefore, paramount for suitable environmental planning to adapt to and reduce their effects.

Systematic optimisation and climate simulation of FAMOUS, a fast version of HadCM3
Climate Dynamics, 2005FAMOUS is an unfluxadjusted coupled atmosphere-ocean general circulation model (AOGCM) based on the Met Office Hadley Centre AOGCM HadCM3. Its parametrisations of physical and dynamical processes are almost identical to those of HadCM3, but by virtue of reduced horizontal and vertical resolution and increased timestep it runs about ten times faster ...

Validation of River Flows in HadGEM1 and HadCM3 with the TRIP River Flow Model
AbstractThe Total Runoff Integrating Pathways (TRIP) global river-routing scheme in the third climate configuration of the Met Office Unified Model (HadCM3) and the newer Hadley Centre Global Environmental Model version 1 (HadGEM1) general circulation models (GCMs) have been validated against long-term average measured river discharge data from 40 ...

Megabiome changes over the last 120kyr (HadCM3)
2016This geospatial dataset contains climate data from 120 ka to 0 ka in 1000 to 4000 year steps as raster data. The variable shows biomes representing nine different climate conditions modeled with the HadCM3 - general circulation model. The source data from Hoogakker et al.

The performance of the Hadley Centre Climate Model (HadCM3) in high southern latitudes
International Journal of Climatology, 2006An assessment of mean atmospheric and oceanic data from a 100-year segment of a pre-industrial control run of version 3 of the Hadley Centre climate model is presented. The model output has been verified against in situ measurements from expeditions, data from the research stations and mean fields from the 15 year re-analysis project of the European ...

Recent and future changes in Arctic sea ice simulated by the HadCM3 AOGCM [PDF]
The HadCM3 AOGCM has been used to undertake an ensemble of four integrations from 1860 to 1999 with forcings due to all major anthropogenic and natural climate factors. The simulated decreasing trend in average Arctic sea ice extent for 1970–1999 (−2.5% per decade) is very similar to observations.

Global and Planetary Change, 2004
Abstract The debate on the enhanced greenhouse effect continues, confusing the climate change impact analysis and the decision makers. Hence, this paper is addressed to the extreme regional-scale evaluation of global climate model (GCM). Given that assessment of models is crucial to consider future scenarios in climate change impact analyses, the ...
