CP Violation and the Role of Electroweak Penguins in Non-leptonic B Decays
The phenomenon of CP violation in the B system and strategies for extracting CKM phases are reviewed. We focus both on general aspects and on some recent developments including CP-violating asymmetries in B_d decays, the B_s system in light of a possible

Abstract Short‐lived, unobservable, and not subject to the usual rules of conservation of energy and momentum, virtual particles—an integral part of the conceptual framework of quantum field theory (QFT)—exhibit a number of curious characteristics which, in recent decades, have in part fueled important discussions about their ontological status ...

In this article, we investigate the potential of the angular distribution of the B → D ∗ ℓν ℓ process to search for new physics signals. The Belle collaboration has analysed it to constraint V cb and the B → D ∗ form factors, under the assumption of the ...

50 Years of quantum chromodynamics
Quantum Chromodynamics, the theory of quarks and gluons, whose interactions can be described by a local SU(3) gauge symmetry with charges called “color quantum numbers”, is reviewed; the goal of this review is to provide advanced Ph.D.

Exclusive Decays of Charm and Beauty [PDF]
Exclusive decays of B and D mesons are discussed with the focus on the theoretical problem how to calculate the relevant hadronic matrix elements of weak operators in the framework of QCD sum rules. The three lectures are devoted to 1.

Singly Cabibbo-suppressed hadronic decays of $\Lambda_c^+$
We study singly Cabibbo-suppressed two-body hadronic decays of the charmed baryon $\Lambda_c^+$, namely, $\Lambda_c^+\to \Lambda K^+, p\pi^0, p\eta, n\pi^+,\Sigma^0K^+,\Sigma^+ K^0$. We use the measured rate of $\Lambda_c^+\to p\phi$ to fix the effective

Upper Bounds on epsilon'/epsilon Parameters B_6^{(1/2)} and B_8^{(3/2)} from Large N QCD and other News [PDF]
We demonstrate that in the large N approach developed by the authors in collaboration with Bardeen, the parameters B_6^{(1/2)} and B_8^{(3/2)} parametrizing the K\to\pi\pi matrix elements _0 and _2 of the dominant QCD and electroweak operators receive ...

Visible GeV ALP from TeV Vector‐Like Leptons
Abstract A model is presented where a GeV axion‐like‐particle (ALP) is predicted in a large portion of the parameter space due to the presence of explicit Peccei–Quinn (PQ) symmetry‐breaking terms in an exotic leptonic sector. The latter provides a solution to the muon g−2$g-2$ anomaly, within the framework of the Linear Seesaw neutrino mechanism.

Direct CP asymmetry in $D\to \pi^-\pi^+$ and $D\to K^-K^+$ in QCD-based approach
We present the first QCD-based calculation of hadronic matrix elements with penguin topology determining direct CP-violating asymmetries in $D^0\to \pi^-\pi^+$ and $D^0\to K^- K^+$ nonleptonic decays.

Improved Determination of the CKM Angle alpha from B to pi pi decays [PDF]
Motivated by a recent paper that compares the results of the analysis of the CKM angle alpha in the frequentist and in the Bayesian approaches, we have reconsidered the information on the hadronic amplitudes, which helps constraining the value of alpha ...
