Auger parameter of hafnium in elemental hafnium and in hafnium oxide

Surface Science, 2004
Abstract X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy has been used to determine the Auger parameters in elemental hafnium and in hafnium oxide (HfO2). The zirconium Lα line has been used as a source of excitation to study the 3d core levels of hafnium, the 1s core level of oxygen, and the X-ray excited MNN Auger region of hafnium and KVV Auger region of oxygen.

Impact of oxygen vacancy on the ferroelectric properties of lanthanum-doped hafnium oxide

, 2020
The discovery of ferroelectric properties in hafnium oxide has brought back the interest in the ferroelectric non-volatile memory as a possible alternative for low power consumption electronic memories.

Oxygen Reduction on Hafnium/Hafnium Carbide Nanoparticles

ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2015
Non-precious metal nanoparticles are attractive candidates for oxygen electrocatalytic reduction in electrochemical energy conversion devices, such as fuel cells and batteries. Here we report for the first time electrocatalytic activity of hafnium/hafnium carbide nanoparticles towards the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR).

Early Moon formation inferred from Hafnium-Tungsten systematics

Nature Geoscience, 2019
The date of the Moon-forming impact places an important constraint on Earth’s origin. Lunar age estimates range from about 30 Myr to 200 Myr after Solar System formation.

Hafnium Germanate from a Hydrous Hafnium Germanium Oxide Gel

Inorganic Chemistry, 1998
The gel chemistry of germanium is explored through the formation and composition of a hydrous metal oxide precursor gel used in the preparation of the HfGeO(4) and HfGeO(4):Ti X-ray phosphors. The enhanced solubility of hexagonal GeO(2) in dilute ammoniacal solutions is exploited to give a convenient and high-yield precipitation.

Corrosion of Hafnium and Hafnium Alloys

2005
Abstract This article describes the processes involved in the production of hafnium and its alloys. It discusses the physical, mechanical and chemical properties of hafnium. The aqueous corrosion testing of hafnium and its alloys is detailed. The article reviews the corrosion resistance of hafnium in specific media, namely, water, steam,
