Quadratic decomposition of a Laguerre-Hahn polynomial sequence I
Let \(P_n\) and \(B_n\) be sequences of monic orthogonal polynomials such that \(B_{2n}(x)=P_n(x^2)\) for all \(n\geq0\). In the present paper, the authors prove that, if one of the sequences is a Laguerre-Hahn orthogonal polynomial sequence, then so is the other.

We give the Karhunen–Loève expansion of the covariance function of a family of discrete weighted Brownian bridges, appearing as discrete analogues of continuous Gaussian processes related to Cramér –von Mises and Anderson–Darling statistics. This analogy

Convolutions for orthogonal polynomials from Lie and quantum algebra representations
The interpretation of the Meixner-Pollaczek, Meixner and Laguerre polynomials as overlap coefficients in the positive discrete series representations of the Lie algebra su(1,1) and the Clebsch-Gordan decomposition leads to generalisations of the ...

On the Orthogonality of q-Classical Polynomials of the Hahn Class
The central idea behind this review article is to discuss in a unified sense the orthogonality of all possible polynomial solutions of the q-hypergeometric difference equation on a q-linear lattice by means of a qualitative analysis of the q-Pearson ...

Discrete Bernstein bases and Hahn polynomials
Hahn polynomials are orthogonal with respect to a discrete scalar product. The paper investigates the representation of Hahn polynomials in discrete Bernstein bases of various degree defined on different intervals of integers. Basic tools are degree evaluation and subdivision algorithms.

From sl_q(2) to a Parabosonic Hopf Algebra
A Hopf algebra with four generators among which an involution (reflection) operator, is introduced. The defining relations involve commutators and anticommutators. The discrete series representations are developed.

We consider the discretization method for solving three-dimensional variable-order (3D-VO) time-fractional partial differential equations. The proposed method is developed based on discrete shifted Hahn polynomials (DSHPs) and their operational matrices.
