Spectral Transformations and Associated Linear Functionals of the First Kind

open access: yesAxioms, 2021
Given a quasi-definite linear functional u in the linear space of polynomials with complex coefficients, let us consider the corresponding sequence of monic orthogonal polynomials (SMOP in short) (Pn)n≥0.

On the limit of non-standard q-Racah polynomials

open access: yes, 2012
The aim of this article is to study the limit transitions from non-standard q-Racah polynomials to big q-Jacobi, dual q-Hahn, and q-Hahn polynomials such that the orthogonality properties and the three-term recurrence relations remain ...

A Model for Sustainable Development in Territorial Production Systems

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The territorial production system demand innovation and adaptability to provide the majority of decisions, especially when splitting up available resources among productive sectors by the lens of sustainable development. The system's economic units evolve in dimensional profile, technical execution, and management of productive process to ...

New examples of Krall-Meixner and Krall-Hahn polynomials, with applications to the construction of exceptional Meixner and Laguerre polynomials [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
We construct new examples of Krall discrete orthogonal polynomials, i.e., orthogonal polynomials with respect to a measure which are also eigenfunctions of a higher order difference operator. The new examples include the orthogonal polynomials with respect to the measures obtained from the Meixner measure $\rho_{a,c}$ and Hahn measure $\rho_{a,b,N}$ by

Evaluating Nano‐Scale Shifts: Quantifying Mesopore Shrinkage in Porous Polymers via NMR Cryoporometry

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
NMR cryoporometry allows for the determination of nanopore diameters in wet polymer gels. Pore shrinkage upon thermal drying of the gels is precisely gauched and related to parameters used for the synthesis of polymer gel. The data show that sufficiently high monomer concentrations can completely mitigate pore size reduction upon drying.

Bethe Ansatz Solutions to Quasi Exactly Solvable Difference Equations

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2009
Bethe ansatz formulation is presented for several explicit examples of quasi exactly solvable difference equations of one degree of freedom which are introduced recently by one of the present authors.

Building some symmetric Laguerre-Hahn functionals of class two at most through the sum of symmetric functionals as pseudofunctions with a Dirac measure at origin

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2006
We show that if v is a symmetric regular Laguerre-Hahn linear form (functional), then the linear form u defined by u=−λx−2v+δ0 is also regular and symmetric Laguerre-Hahn linear form for every complex λ except for a discrete set of numbers depending ...

Multivariate Hahn polynomials and difference equations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
The multivariate Hahn polynomials are constructed explicitly as the common eigenvectors of a family of second order difference operators. They are orthogonal with respect to the hypergeometric multinomial distribution. The main difference operator is adopted from the work of Karlin-McGregor in 1975.

The effect of result‐based agri‐environmental payments on biodiversity: Evidence from Switzerland

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract We estimate the effects of result‐based agri‐environmental payments on biodiversity using a unique dataset containing information about plant vegetation. The data include information on surveyed plant species for a large number of randomly selected plots followed over a period of 20 years in Switzerland.
