Indigo production in hairy root cultures of Polygonum tinctorium Lour.

Biotechnology Letters, 2000
The transformed root culture of Polygonum tinctorium Lour. was established by infecting leaf explants with Agrobacterium rhizogenes A4. These cultures were examined for their growth and indigo content under various culture conditions. Among the four different culture media tested, SH medium showed the highest yield for root growth (28 mg dry wt/30 ml ...

Production and analysis of organic acids in hairy‐root cultures of Isatis indigotica Fort. (indigo woad)

Biotechnology and Applied Biochemistry, 2004
Hairy roots were induced from both cotyledon and hypocotyl explants of Isatis indigotica Fort. (indigo woad) through transformation with Agrobaterium rhizogenes strain A4, R1601 and ATCC15834. The results showed that the cotyledons were the preferred explants to hypocotyls and A4 was the most suitable A.

Effect of seed scarification on germination parameters in hairy indigo(Indigofera astragalina)

Current Advances in Agricultural Sciences(An International Journal), 2016
Two seed lots, freshly harvested and one year old seed of hairy indigo (Indigofera astragalina DC) were used in the present study. Non scarified seed was used as control. Germination test of scarified and non scarified seed lots were conducted at 25 and 30°C in the dark, between the paper (BP).
