Achieving Low Lattice Thermal Conductivity in Half‐Heusler Compound LiCdSb via Zintl Chemistry
Half‐Heusler compounds usually possess ultrahigh power factors, while the large thermal conductivity hinders the further optimization of their thermoelectric properties. Herein, from the perspective of material design, a new half‐Heusler lattice with low

Thermal conductivity of half-Heusler superlattices [PDF]
Thin films and superlattices (SLs) of TiNiSn and Zr Hf NiSn layers have been grown by dc magnetron sputtering on MgO (100) substrates to reduce the thermal conductivity, aiming for improvement of the thermoelectric figure of merit ZT. The thermal conductivity of 1 Wm−1K−1 was measured by the differential 3ω method for an SL with a periodicity of 8.8 nm.

Tunable phase transitions in half-Heusler TbPtBi compound
Abstract We report various phase transitions in half-Heusler TbPtBi compound using density functional theory. Specifically, the inclusion of spin–orbit coupling (SOC) leads to the band inversion resulting in the transition from the metallic to the topological semimetallic phase.

Half-Heusler Alloys for Efficient Thermoelectric Power Conversion [PDF]
Half-Heusler (HH) phases (space group F43m, Clb) are increasingly gaining attention as promising thermoelectric materials in view of their thermal stability, scalability, and environmental benignity as well as efficient power output. Until recently, the verifiable dimensionless figure of merit (ZT) of HH phases has remained moderate near 1, which ...
