A Proof‐of‐Concept Assessment of a Novel Wearable Eyelid Muscle Device: A Pre‐Clinical Animal Cadaver Study for Eyelid Closure Restoration

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This article introduces a soft wearable eyelid sling device incorporating a hydraulic soft artificial muscle (SAM) for achieving complete closure of an eyelid. The SAM is driven by a cam mechanism that provides a displacement profile closely matched with those of a healthy eyelid.

Degradable Magnetic Composites from Recycled NdFeB Magnets for Soft Actuation and Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents a degradable soft magnetic composite made from recycled NdFeB particles embedded in a gelatin‐based organogel. The material is processed into magnetic sensors and soft robotic components, which can later be dissolved in a green solvent to recover NdFeB magnetic particles.

On the Role of MWCNTs for the Effective Detection of Glucose Using MWCNTs/NiO/MWCNTs Stacks on Carbon Paper Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
This study deciphers the mechanism of enhanced glucose detection using multiwalled carbon nanotubes and nickel oxide stacks (MWCNTs/NiO/MWCNTs) on commercially available carbon paper electrodes. We demonstrate the role of MWCNTs where the defects enrich the electrocatalytic activity when they come in contact with the glucose molecule for its selective ...

Simulation of Carrier Injection Pathways in Axial GaN Nanowire MicroLEDs

open access: yesAdvanced Theory and Simulations, EarlyView.
This study examines how geometrical variations in the active region affect carrier injection in multiple quantum well light‐emitting diodes (LEDs) based on axial nanowires. The key role of semipolar quantum wells located at the nanowire edges is highlighted, which efficiently facilitates electron injection into the central polar quantum wells.
