ABSTRACT Since the 1990s, environmental policy has shifted toward ecosystem protection and biodiversity conservation, a development often described as an ecological turn. This article argues that in practice this turn has taken the form of an ecological “U‐turn,” as environmental ambitions are subordinated to production‐oriented objectives.

The Combination of Two Concentric Discharge Channels into a Nested Hall-Effect Thruster. [PDF]
Hall-effect thrusters continue to be one of the most efficient technologies for spacecraft maneuvering and stationkeeping. One of the ongoing efforts in the electric propulsion community is to scale Hall-effect thrusters to high powers (10 kW - 1 MW ...

ABSTRACT Societal gender role norms play a crucial role in shaping men's and women's career aspirations. However, prior research documenting this key role of gendered norms has primarily focused on heterosexual women and men in the global North‐West. Previous studies documenting differences in career interests by sexual orientation suggest that gender ...

A Time-resolved Investigation of the Hall Thruster Breathing Mode. [PDF]
The existence of plasma oscillations in the near and far field discharge of a Hall effect thruster alters the conventionally held view of their operation as steady electrostatic propulsion devices.

ABSTRACT Policy process research has excelled in explaining structural policy change within national settings, but extensions and applications to the EU level have long proven challenging for scholars. Given that the EU is currently experiencing its longest period of Treaty stability since the 1980s—having evolved into a sui generis political system ...

Performance of a Cylindrical Hall-Effect Thruster Using Permanent Magnets
While annular Hall thrusters can operate at high efficiency at kW power levels, it is difficult to construct one that operates over a broad envelope from 1 kW down to 100 W while maintaining an efficiency of 45-55%. Scaling to low power while holding the
