Halo and halo excitations

Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London. Series A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, 1998
A brief overview is given of the present status of our knowledge on halo states. The emphasis is put on general ideas and concepts.

Diabetic Halo

Southern Medical Journal, 1983
In 42 diabetic patients evaluated by ultrasonography in the third trimester of pregnancy, 12 fetuses were found to have the diabetic halo. Of that group, the estimated fetal weight exceeded the 90th percentile in eight of nine studies in which the weight could be estimated sonographically. Overgrowth of the fetal head was not a finding in this group of

Isospin in halo nuclei: Borromean halo, tango halo, and halo isomers

Physics of Atomic Nuclei, 2017
It is shown that the wave functions for isobaric analog, double isobaric analog, configuration, and double configuration states may simultaneously have components corresponding to nn, np, and pp halos. The difference in the halo structure between the ground and excited states of a nucleus may lead to the formation of halo isomers.

Physical halo and radio halo

Symposium - International Astronomical Union, 1967
A distinction is necessary between two concepts: the physical halo, forming a transition between the gas in the galactic disk and that in intergalactic space, and the radio halo, a spherical component (withR~ 15 kpc) in the distribution of non-thermal radio emission.

Halo

Proceedings of the SIGCHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems, 2003
As users pan and zoom, display content can disappear into off-screen space, particularly on small-screen devices. The clipping of locations, such as relevant places on a map, can make spatial cognition tasks harder. Halo is a visualization technique that supports spatial cognition by showing users the location of off-screen objects.

HALO

Proceedings of the 40th annual ACM SIGPLAN-SIGACT symposium on Principles of programming languages, 2013
Even well-typed programs can go wrong in modern functional languages, by encountering a pattern-match failure, or simply returning the wrong answer. An increasingly-popular response is to allow programmers to write contracts that express semantic properties, such as crash-freedom or some useful post-condition.

HALO

Proceedings of the 46th International Symposium on Computer Architecture, 2019
Network Function Virtualization (NFV) has become the new standard in the cloud platform, as it provides the flexibility and agility for deploying various network services on general-purpose servers. However, it still suffers from sub-optimal performance in software packet processing.
