Primary Productivity in Halodule wrightii: A Comparison of Techniques Based on Daily Carbon Budgets

Estuaries, 1995
Bimonthly variations in shoot density, biomass, and blade productivity were used to estimate diel rates of primary productivity in conjunction with in situ measurements of photosynthesis and irradiance for a monospecific meadow ofHalodule wrightii Ascherson in Laguna Madre, Texas.

Growth of Halodule wrightii in culture and the effects of cropping, light, salinity and atrazine

Aquatic Botany, 1987
The interaction of three environmental variables, light, salinity and cropping, with the effects of the herbicide atrazine on Halodule wrightii Ascherson was investigated in the laboratory. Atrazine at 30 ppm caused a significant reduction in survival of ramets, production of new ramets, above-ground biomass and growth, when compared to Halodule ...

Leaf growth rate of the seagrass Halodule wrightii photographically measured in situ

Aquatic Botany, 1982
Abstract A patch of Halodule wrightii Aschers. in the Indian River, Florida, was clipped near the sediment surface and a mirrored prism was set in place to photographically record subsequent regrowth of blades in situ. Tagging was considered not feasible.

The Effects of Dock Shading on the Seagrass Halodule wrightii in Perdido Bay, Alabama

Estuaries, 1999
Aboveground and belowground biomass, density, blade length, and chlorophyll content of seagrass growing directly under docks were compared with adjacent unshaded sites. The amount of light reduction due to dock shading was measured using quantum spherical irradiance meters.

Genetic diversity of Halodule wrightii using random amplified polymorphic DNA

Aquatic Botany, 2002
Abstract The genetic diversity of three populations of the seagrass Halodule wrightii from Christmas Bay, a Flour Bluff cooling pond in Corpus Christi, and Florida Bay was determined using random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD). The purpose was to determine if these populations were multiclonal or monoclonal and to see if any genotypes were shared

Photosynthetic Production and Biomass of the Subtropical Seagrass Halodule wrightii along an Estuarine Gradient

Estuaries, 1996
Seasonal patterns of aboveground and belowground biomass, leaf chlorophyll (chl) content, and in situ differences in photosynthetic parameters were examined in the shoal grass Halodule wrightii along an estuarine gradient in the western Gulf of Mexico.
