Discovering PETases: An Interlink Between Engineering Enzymes and Microbiomes. [PDF]
In this review‐type article, we discuss some recent trends in the identification of polyethylene terephthalate‐degrading enzymes (PETases) from nature. We highlight that the discovery of novel PETases can be improved by an interlink between reshaping microbiomes and engineering proteins.

Haloglomus irregulare gen. nov., sp. nov., a New Halophilic Archaeon Isolated from a Marine Saltern [PDF]
A halophilic archaeal strain, designated F16-60T, was isolated from Isla Cristina marine saltern in Huelva, Spain. Cells were pleomorphic, irregular, non-motile, and Gram-stain-negative. It produced red-pigmented colonies on agar plates.

Halophilic Nuclease from a Moderately Halophilic Micrococcus varians [PDF]
The moderately halophilic bacterium Micrococcus varians , isolated from soy sauce mash, produced extracellular nuclease when cultivated aerobically in media containing 1 to 4 M NaCl or KCl. The enzyme, purified to an electrophoretically homogeneous state, had both ribonuclease and deoxyribonuclease activities.
