Large amplitude free vibration analysis of functionally graded beams using an homogenisation procedure

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2012
The purpose of the present paper is to show that the problem of geometrically non linear free vibrations of functionally graded (FG) beams with immovable ends can be reduced to that of isotropic homogeneous beams with effective bending stiffness and ...

High‐Performance Zero‐Gap Glycerol‐Fed Electrolyzer for C3 Chemicals and Hydrogen Production

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a dynamic, self‐regulating operation strategy that enables selective glycerol electrooxidation in the OER‐free regime, co‐producing C3 chemicals and hydrogen at cell voltages below 1.25 V. Voltage‐ and temperature‐resolved analyses define optimal operating conditions, achieving a sustained current density of 500 mA cm−2 at ∼1.21 V ...

Correlated Dual‐Gradient Electrodes Enabling Spatially Synchronized Sulfur Redox in High‐Mass‐Loading Li–S Batteries Under High Current Densities

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Coupling a dual‐gradient carbonized framework with Fe2O3/Fe‐N‐C catalytic sites enables spatially synchronized sulfur redox across the entire electrode thickness in high‐mass‐loading Li–S batteries. This synergistic structural–catalytic design effectively mitigates concentration, ohmic, and electrochemical polarization, thereby achieving high‐capacity ...

Generalized Finite Difference Method for Plate Bending Analysis of Functionally Graded Materials

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
In this paper, an easy-to-implement domain-type meshless method—the generalized finite difference method (GFDM)—is applied to simulate the bending behavior of functionally graded (FG) plates.

The Tell-Tale “Heart”: Determining “Fair” Use of Unpublished Texts [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Copyright laws require that courts consider at least four factors in determining whether a quotation or close paraphrase of another\u27s unpublished work without permission falls under fair use.

Bio‐Inspired Hierarchical Nanoreactor With Hetero‐Coordinated Fe–P–Co Bridges for Whole‐Pathway‐Regulated Electrocatalytic Oxygen Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A bioinspired Co‐doped Fe2P on N‐doped carbon with a hierarchical eucalyptus‐like nanoarchitecture is engineered to regulate oxygen across the entire electrochemical pathway, achieving a half‐wave potential of 0.938 V vs. RHE, sustaining 373 h of discharge in Al‐air batteries, and delivering an energy density of 3487 Wh/kg.

Why isn’t sex optional? Stem-cell competition, loss of regenerative capacity, and cancer in metazoan evolution

open access: yesCommunicative & Integrative Biology, 2020
Animals that can reproduce vegetatively by fission or budding and also sexually via specialized gametes are found in all five primary animal lineages (Bilateria, Cnidaria, Ctenophora, Placozoa, Porifera).

Inclusive Fitness

open access: yes, 2016
This paper reviews and addresses a variety of issues relating to inclusive fitness. The main question is: are there limits to the generality of inclusive fitness, and if so, what are the perimeters of the domain within which inclusive fitness works? This

Weyl's symbols of Heisenberg operators of canonical coordinates and momenta as quantum characteristics

open access: yes, 2006
The knowledge of quantum phase flow induced under the Weyl's association rule by the evolution of Heisenberg operators of canonical coordinates and momenta allows to find the evolution of symbols of generic Heisenberg operators.
