Spin and Charge Control of Topological End States in Chiral Graphene Nanoribbons on a 2D Ferromagnet

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Chiral graphene nanoribbons on a ferromagnetic gadolinium‐gold surface alloy display tunable spin and charge states at their termini. Atomic work function variations and exchange fields enabe transitions between singlet, doublet, and triplet configurations.

Fermion Coherence Hamiltonians [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Theoretical Physics, 2010
We have established that the most general form of Hamiltonian that preserves fermionic coherent states stable in time, is that of the nonstationary free fermionic oscillator. This is to be compared with the earlier result of boson coherence Hamiltonian, which is of the more general form of the nonstationary forced bosonic oscillator.

Anomalous value of the g-factor of localized iron centers in the Al2[SiO4] lattice with strong tetragonal distortion

open access: yesSt. Petersburg Polytechnical University Journal: Physics and Mathematics, 2020
The results of theoretical and experimental studies of the electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectra of iron impurity centers in the Al2[SiO4] lattice are presented. Characteristic defects of the system have been found to lead to the appearance of

Microscopic Insights into Magnetic Warping and Time‐Reversal Symmetry Breaking in Topological Surface States of Rare‐Earth‐Doped Bi2Te3

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic doping of the topological insulator Bi2Te3 with erbium adatoms induces out‐of‐plane magnetism and breaks time‐reversal symmetry, opening a Dirac gap and driving a Fermi surface transition from hexagonal to star‐of‐David geometry. Microscopy, spectroscopy, and magnetic dichroism reveal atomically controlled magnetic interactions that tailor the

The Hamiltonian Syllogistic [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Logic, Language and Information, 2011
This paper undertakes a re-examination of Sir William Hamilton's doctrine of the quantification of the predicate. Hamilton's doctrine comprises two theses. First, the predicates of traditional syllogistic sentence-forms contain implicit existential quantifiers, so that, for example, "All p are q" is to be understood as "All p are some q". Second, these

On the Curvature and Heat Flow on Hamiltonian Systems

open access: yesAnalysis and Geometry in Metric Spaces, 2014
We develop the differential geometric and geometric analytic studies of Hamiltonian systems. Key ingredients are the curvature operator, the weighted Laplacian, and the associated Riccati equation. We prove appropriate generalizations of the Bochner ...

Nested Locally Hamiltonian Graphs and the Oberly-Sumner Conjecture

open access: yesDiscussiones Mathematicae Graph Theory, 2022
A graph G is locally 𝒫, abbreviated L𝒫, if for every vertex v in G the open neighbourhood N(v) of v is non-empty and induces a graph with property 𝒫. Specifically, a graph G without isolated vertices is locally connected (LC) if N(v) induces a connected ...

Self‐Cooling Molecular Spin Qudits

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A material made of [GdEr] molecular dimers can encode a qudit and perform as a magnetic refrigerant. Microwave resonant pulses coherently manipulate its 16 spin states, while direct demagnetization measurements cool the material and a device down to temperatures below 1 K.

The Hamiltonian and Hypohamiltonian of Generalized Petersen Graph (GP_(n,9))

open access: yesJambura Journal of Mathematics
The study of Hamiltonian and Hypohamiltonian properties in the generalized Petersen graph GP_{n,k} is interesting due to the unique structure and characteristics of these graphs. The method employed in this study involves searching for Hamiltonian cycles

Polyimide‐Linked Hexaazatriphenylene‐Based Porous Organic Polymer with Multiple Redox‐Active Sites as a High‐Capacity Organic Cathode for Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A high‐capacity polyimide‐linked porous organic polymer (HAT‐PTO) incorporating numerous redox‐active centers is synthesized via a hydrothermal reaction, delivering a high theoretical capacity of 484 mAh g−1. In situ hybridization with carboxyl‐functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes enhances conductivity and stability, achieving 397 mAh g−1 at C ...
