AbstractIn this paper we propose a novel Hamiltonian theory based controller design methodology for unified power flow controller (UPFC) control to improve the dynamic performance of power systems. The Hamiltonian theory of the differential‐algebraic (DA) system is described and a simple control strategy is deduced to stabilize the system. Furthermore,

Abstract In this study, an improved Hamiltonian structure-preserving controller is applied for formation flying in elliptic orbits. The Lyapunov-Floquet theory is applied to the Tschauner-Hempel (TH) equation in order to generate its transformed form with two zero eigenvalues and two pairs of imaginary eigenvalues.

Based on Hamiltonian energy theory, this paper proposes a pitch angle and excitation torque controller for the wind energy conversion systems (WECS), such that the closed-loop system can achieve its stability. Furthermore, in the presence of disturbances, the closed-loop system is finite-gain L2 stable by the Hamiltonian controller.

Singular reduction of symmetries in Hamiltonian mechanics and control theory
2011We discuss the reduction of symmetries of dynamical systems, Hamiltonian systems, Hamiltonian systems with non-holonomic constraints, and non-linear control systems. We assume that the symmetry group of each system acts properly on the phase space of the system. Reduced system is described in the framework of theory of di erential spaces.
