Bifurcation analysis of ion-acoustic waves in an adiabatic trapped electron and warm ion plasma

open access: yesJournal of Taibah University for Science, 2020
Bifurcation analysis of ion-acoustic waves in complex plasmas in the presence of adiabatic trapped electrons and warm ions is studied. Using bifurcation theory of dynamical structure, the Hamiltonian system inculpated electrostatic potential is derived ...

Damping Formation Mechanism and Damping Injection of Virtual Synchronous Generator Based on Generalized Hamiltonian Theory

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
Invertor as a virtual synchronous generator (VSG) to provide virtual inertia and damping can improve the stability of a microgrid, in which the damping is one of the fundamental problems in dynamics.

Non-standard construction of Hamiltonian structures [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 1997
Examples of the construction of Hamiltonian structures for dynamical systems in field theory (including one reputedly non-Hamiltonian problem) without using Lagrangians, are presented. The recently developed method used requires the knowledge of one constant of the motion of the system under consideration and one solution of the symmetry equation.

Modulation of Camassa--Holm equation and reciprocal transformations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We derive the modulation equations or Whitham equations for the Camassa--Holm (CH) equation. We show that the modulation equations are hyperbolic and admit bi-Hamiltonian structure.

Entanglement entropy in quantum spin chains with broken parity number symmetry

open access: yesSciPost Physics, 2022
Consider a generic quantum spin chain that can be mapped to free quadratic fermions via Jordan-Wigner (JW) transformation. In the presence of arbitrary boundary magnetic fields, this Hamiltonian is no longer a quadratic Hamiltonian after JW ...

Stability of Structured Hamiltonian Eigensolvers [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Matrix Analysis and Applications, 2001
This work concerns the stability of structured Hamiltonian eigensolvers. The structured backward errors are defined. By introducing the symplectic quasi-QR factorization, the structured backward errors can be efficiently computed. A detailed rounding error analysis of some Jacobi-like algorithms is also given.

A Structural Observation on Port-Hamiltonian Systems

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 2023
We study port-Hamiltonian systems on a familiy of intervals and characterise all boundary conditions leading to $m$-accretive realisations of the port-Hamiltonian operator and thus to generators of contractive semigroups. The proofs are based on a structural observation that the port-Hamiltonian operator can be transformed to the derivative on a ...

Compilation by stochastic Hamiltonian sparsification [PDF]

open access: yesQuantum, 2020
Simulation of quantum chemistry is expected to be a principal application of quantum computing. In quantum simulation, a complicated Hamiltonian describing the dynamics of a quantum system is decomposed into its constituent terms, where the effect of ...

Robust and Efficient Hamiltonian Learning [PDF]

open access: yesQuantum, 2023
With the fast development of quantum technology, the sizes of both digital and analog quantum systems increase drastically. In order to have better control and understanding of the quantum hardware, an important task is to characterize the interaction, i.

Multi-Lagrangians for Integrable Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We propose a general scheme to construct multiple Lagrangians for completely integrable non-linear evolution equations that admit multi- Hamiltonian structure. The recursion operator plays a fundamental role in this construction.
