2020This paper examines a hammam survey prepared in 1180/1766 in Istanbul on the existing public baths. This survey registers a total of 195 public baths with their locations, awqaf they are affiliated with, rent revenues, gedik owners and tenants.

Spil dağı eteklerinde yer alan antik dönemin ünlü kentlerinden Manisa, Saruhan Beyliği döneminde başkent, Osmanlı döneminde ise Şehzadeler Kenti olarak önemini sürdürmüştür. Çeşitli dönemlerden kalma çok sayıda yapısıyla bugün adeta bir müze kent konumundaki Manisa’da, Sultan II. Murad bir saray inşa ettirmiştir.
