Relationship between local reactivity indices and the hammett constant for isatoic anhydride and its derivatives

AbstractLocal reactivity is obtained for isatoic anhydride (ISA) (2H 3,1‐benzoxazin‐2,4(1H)‐dione) and 20 of its derivatives, using reactivity indices such as: local softness, condensed Fukui function, relative electrophilicity index, and relative nucleophilicity index.

The hammett relationship in CpTiCl2OPhX (X = CH3O, CH3, Cl, NO2) + BuLi(Et2AlCl) catalytic systems

Abstract The CpTiCl2OPhX (X = CH3O, CH3, Cl, NO2 + BuLi system is active m olefin hydrogenation, while the CpTiCl2OPhX + Et2AlCl system is active in olefin polymerization. In both cases a linear relationship between the Hammett substituent constants and the catalytic activity of the investigated systems is found.

The stability constants of several copper(II) complexes with aromatic carboxylic acids and their correlation with the Hammett relationship

Abstract The first and second stability constants of seventeen copper(II) complexes with aromatic carboxylic acids have been determined at 25° in a 50 per cent by volume water/dioxane solvent with four of these systems being extended to 30 and 35°. The corresponding thermodynamic values have been calculated.

Simultaneous conformity and non-conformity to Hammett’s linear free energy relationship (LFER): a rarity

Linear free energy relationships (LFERs) are an important topic in physical-organic chemistry. When one browses the literature, one encounters innumerable instances wherein the series in question conforms to LFER; one also encounters appreciable numbers of examples of non-conformity to LFER.
