Fast learning and sustained exploration: The role of timely performance feedback

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research Summary How should organizations manage learning dynamics? Strategy theories suggest “more‐is‐better”—fast, frictionless sharing enhances performance—while organizational learning theory warns that “less‐is‐more,” as fast learning causes premature convergence.

Physical Unclonable Function Based on 3D‐NAND Flash Array Structure With Multi‐Chip Implementation

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Physical unclonable function (PUF) based on a 3D‐NAND flash array is proposed, featuring a multi‐chip structure and a massive challenge–response pair (CRP) capacity. The presented utilizes intrinsic string current variations experimentally verified across eight fabricated 48 × 24 NAND flash arrays.

On McDiarmid's inequality for Hamming distance

open access: yes, 2016
We improve the rate function of McDiarmid's inequality for Hamming distance. In particular, applying our result to the separately Lipschitz functions of independent random variables, we also refine the convergence rate function of McDiarmid's inequality around a median.

Transforming Paper into Plasmonic Sensors: One‐Step Fabrication of High‐Enhancement SERS Nanosubstrates via Surface Energy Control

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
Cellulose paper is transformed into a high‐performance plasmonic sensor through a process called SILVERED, which involves single‐step vapor deposition onto fluorosilanized fibers. Surface‐energy contrast drives uniform silver nanoparticle growth with sub‐10 nm hot‐spot gaps, achieving 2 pM detection of rhodamine B.

Portable Radar for Noncontact Heart Rate Monitoring and Estrus Detection in Dairy Cows

open access: yesIEEJ Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Engineering, EarlyView.
This study introduces a portable radar system for real‐time monitoring of respiratory and heart rates in dairy cows. It uses millimeter‐wave Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar to perform noncontact physiological sensing, reducing behavioral disturbance. The radar system's design prioritizes portability, cost‐effectiveness, and robustness,

‘Using anuran community diversity and Pseudacris crucifer to predict landscape quality across a land use gradient'

open access: yesWildlife Biology, EarlyView.
As human‐modified landscape and climate changes proliferate, maintaining biodiversity and understanding the function and quality of available habitat is imperative. As anurans (frogs/toads) such as Pseudacris crucifer, can be an indicator species of habitat quality and ecosystem productivity, studying the anuran community in a mixed‐land use region ...
