Small‐Scale Magnetic Peristaltic Soft Robot With Mobility and Transport Capabilities

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study introduces a miniature, untethered soft magnetic microrobot with peristaltic capabilities for both locomotion and cargo transport. Eight helically magnetized elastomeric strips deform under rotating fields (10–80 mT, 1–5 Hz), enabling movement across rods and lumina at up to 4.1 body lengths min‐¹.

A Soft Robotic Finger With Deep Learning‐Enhanced Tactile Sensing for Texture and Softness Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Inspired by human touch, a tendon‐driven soft robotic finger combines multimodal tactile sensing and deep learning to simultaneously perceive texture and softness on deformable surfaces. A CNN‐LSTM model fuses pressure, accelerometer, and gyroscope signals to accurately classify material properties, achieving up to 95.4% texture and 97.0% softness ...

Does the Workload Change When Using an Impact Wrench in Different Postures?—A Counter-Balanced Trial

open access: yesVibration
Awkward hand-arm posture and overhead work increase the risk of musculoskeletal symptoms. These adverse health effects can also be caused by additional workloads such as hand-arm vibration exposure while carrying or holding a power tool. This pilot trial
