Dense Nanofibrillar Collagen–Silica Hybrids with High Strength and ECM‐Mimetic Tissue Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Dense nanofibrillar collagen–silica hybrids are engineered by synchronizing collagen fibrillogenesis with silica condensation, producing printable scaffolds that unexpectedly approach native extracellular matrix organization and strength. These cell‐free constructs guide endogenous cell‐infiltration, enable localized matrix remodeling, and integrate ...

Piezo1 promotes vibration-induced vascular smooth muscle injury by regulating the NF-κB/p65 axis

open access: yesCommunications Biology
Vibration induced damage to the peripheral circulatory system is thought to be an early stage of hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS) caused by occupational exposure to hand-transmitted vibration (HTV).

[Occupational exposure to hand-transmitted vibration in Poland].

open access: yesMedycyna pracy, 2004
Occupational exposure to hand transmitted vibration may cause disorders in upper extremities known as hand-arm vibration syndrome. Therefore it is essential to know the sources of vibration, occupational groups exposed to vibration and the number of exposed workers.

Fluorine‐Free Soft Nanocomposites for High‐Speed Liquid Impact Repellence

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fluorine‐free soft nanocomposite coatings are developed using silicone oil‐mediated mechanical‐stiffness control, enabling ‘dry’ liquid‐repellent surfaces that resist high‐speed water jet impacts up to ∼60 m/s. By tuning nanoparticle loading and oil content, the coatings also achieve >90% optical transparency, amphiphobicity with impact resistance to ...

Unveiling Multidimensional Physicochemical Design Principles for Tissue Processing Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study establishes a materials‐based design framework for polymer hydrogels in tissue clearing, linking physicochemical properties to performance in tissue processing, labeling, and imaging. By analyzing rheology, swelling, porosity, antibody diffusion, mechanical performance, and thermochemical stability across platforms, this work provides a ...

MAGTWIST: A Magnetically‐Driven Rotary Actuator Using a Traveling‐Wave With Integrated Stiffness Tunability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MAGTWIST: A compact magnetic rotary actuator, enabling smooth, stepless rotation, and on‐demand locking. Inspired by peristalsis, a soft polymer belt generates a traveling‐wave, enabling 270° rotation when heated. Cooling stiffens the belt, locking it in position and enabling it to withstand high loads.
