Analyzing Grip Strength Disparities Between Dominant and Non-Dominant Hands: Influence of Sex and Age in the Polish Population

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Handgrip strength (HGS) is a key indicator of muscular fitness and physical health. Recently, attention has focused on HGS asymmetry as a potential marker of functional impairment.

Comparing of asymmetrical activity in the human brain hemisphere between psychiatric inpatients and healthy people by limb dominance (hand, foot, and eye) [PDF]

open access: yesفصلنامه ابن سینا, 2014
Background: Asymmetrical activation of brain hemisphere has been one of the dominant factors that involved in the etiology of psychiatric disorders. The aim of this study is assessment the defected lateralization of the brain`s hemispheres in psychiatric

Influence of pain location and hand dominance on scapular kinematics and EMG activities: an exploratory study

open access: yesBMC Musculoskeletal Disorders, 2011
Background Assessment of three-dimensional kinematics and electromyography (EMG) activities is common in patients with chronic neck pain. However, the effect of hand dominance and neck pain location on the measurement of movement and EMG characteristics ...

Phenomenological and Physically Based Modeling of Flow Stress and Strengthening Mechanism of Inconel 718

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Nickel‐based alloys are widely used in high‐temperature applications due to their excellent mechanical strength and oxidation resistance. However, properties such as high‐temperature strength and pronounced work‐hardening make them difficult to machine.

Rho-rho production in two-photon collisions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The measurement of exclusive ρρ production in two-photon interactions at LEP, γγ ∗ → ρρ, was studied at two-photon center-of-mass energies of 1.1 GeV ≤ Wγγ ≤ 3 GeV and photon virtualities of Q 2 < 0.02 GeV2 and 0.2 ≤ Q 2 ≤ 30 GeV2 .

Population of Nonmetallic Inclusions in Liquid High‐Silicon Electrical Steel in Contact With MgO–C Refractories Based on Recyclates and Environmentally Friendly Binders

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The formation of nonmetallic inclusions (NMIs) was investigated in this study, carrying out immersion tests for 30 min at a temperature of 1600°C with liquid high‐silicon electrical steel (Si ≈ 3 mass‐%) and different MgO–C refractories. Conventional MgO–C refractories were considered, as well as MgO–C refractories containing MgO–C recyclate and ...

Raman Spectroscopic Identification of Oxide Phases in a Corroded MgO–Steel Composite Anode Used in Aluminum Molten Salt Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Micro‐Raman spectroscopy is applied to characterize corrosion products in a recycled‐based MgO–316L steel composite anode after molten salt electrolysis. A depth‐dependent Fe–O/Fe–Al–O layer sequence of magnetite, hercynite, and an Al‐doped magnetite transition zone is identified.
