Abstract: This work presents a computer-vision-based application for recognizing hand gestures. A live video feed is captured by a camera, and a still image is extracted from that feed with the aid of an interface. At least once per count hand gesture (one, two, three, four, and five), the system is trained.

Automatic recognition of hand gestures
2019 11th International Conference on Electronics, Computers and Artificial Intelligence (ECAI), 2019Developing and implementing a software algorithm for detecting, recognizing and interpreting hand gestures. The project involves an automatic realtime image analysis system that recognizes several predefined movements. The analysis system first involves locating and separating the areas of the image associated with the hand, followed by the motion ...

Recognition of Static Hand Gesture
2018 6th International Conference on Multimedia Computing and Systems (ICMCS), 2018Human-Human (deaf people-ordinary people) and Human-Machine communication have become an interesting area of research requiring robust recognition systems. The paper proposes an implementation of hand posture recognition using three databases (Arabic Sign Language ArSL, American Sign Language ASL, and NUS hand posture) under uniform background.

Gesture Recognition: Focus on the Hands
2018 IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2018Gestures are a common form of human communication and important for human computer interfaces (HCI). Recent approaches to gesture recognition use deep learning methods, including multi-channel methods. We show that when spatial channels are focused on the hands, gesture recognition improves significantly, particularly when the channels are fused using ...

A project for hand gesture recognition
Proceedings 13th Brazilian Symposium on Computer Graphics and Image Processing (Cat. No.PR00878), 2002This paper discusses an ongoing project for hand gesture recognition in computer vision systems. The proposed approach is based on the shape analysis tools introduced by R.M. Cesar Jr. and L. da F. Costa (1997). More specifically, the wavelet transform is used to generate features for the recognition of hand gestures based on contours.
