Adsorption models of hybridization and post-hybridisation behaviour on oligonucleotide microarrays

open access: yes, 2006
Analysis of data from an Affymetrix Latin Square spike-in experiment indicates that measured fluorescence intensities of features on an oligonucleotide microarray are related to spike-in RNA target concentrations via a hyperbolic response function ...

Germanane Quantum Dots Promote Metabolic Reprogramming of Immune Cells Toward Regulatory T Cells and Suppress Inflammation In Vitro and In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metabolic changes in immune cells direct the phenotype and function of the host immune system. Smart nanomaterials must target metabolic pathways to direct immune cell fate. This study reports the fabrication and first application of germanane quantum dots (GeHQDs) to modulate inflammation in vitro and in vivo.

Money, moral transgressions, and blame

open access: yes, 2013
Two experiments tested participants' attributions for others' immoral behaviors when conducted for more versus less money. We hypothesized and found that observers would blame wrongdoers more when seeing a transgression enacted for little rather than a ...

Stoma‐Shell Nanoarchitecture for Enhanced Plasma Confinement Catalysis in Synthesis of Ethanol from CO2

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐energy electron impact in plasma catalysis often causes excessive dissociation of active intermediates, limiting C2+ product selectivity. To address this challenge, a bio‐inspired stoma‐shell nanoarchitecture is designed to decouple electron impact from catalytic reaction zones.

From Single Atoms to Nanoparticles: Pathways Toward Efficient and Durable Pt/TiO2 Photocatalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Platinum single atoms on TiO2 nanosheets evolve into clusters and nanoparticles under ethanol photoreforming and thermal treatments. By controlling deposition and post‐treatments, particle size and location on specific facets are modulated. The study reveals how stability pathways determine efficiency, guiding the design of more durable photocatalysts.
