We examine whether handedness is related to performance in the labour market and, in particular, to earnings. We find a significant wage effect for left-handed men with high levels of education. This positive wage effect is strongest among those who have lower than average earnings relative to those of similar high education.

Handedness of Handedness Researchers
Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1979This study tested the hypothesis that laterality and handedness researchers are more likely than other researchers to be left-handed. A questionnaire assessing hand preference was sent to authors of articles which either dealt with handedness ( N = 50) or other aspects of laterality ( N = 100) or did not concern laterality ( N = 50). The proportion of

Handedness Conversion in Children and Parental Handedness
Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences, 1985Abstract: In order to find out which factor, genetic or environmental, is more involved in determining hand usage, the distribution of handedness in Japanese senior high school students and the success of their parents' attempts at conversion of handedness was investigated with respect to four pairings of parental handedness. When a child's handedness

A 36 year-old man with unusual handwriting difficulties was tested for writing ability with the right and left hands shortly before and after a spontaneous change of writing habits. After only 10 mos. practice with the previously non-preferred (left) hand, handwriting speed and legibility was comparable on the two sides.

Migraine is a typically unilateral disorder in adulthood; however, the reasons for painful lateralization have been little investigated. The possible influence of manual dominance was suggested. We aimed to investigate the localization of pain in migraine attacks in right-handed and left-handed subjects.

Abstract The handedness scores in 1171 Israeli high school students were found to be independent of ethnic origin, socio-economic class and reading direction. Contrary to other reports, sex differences were found neither between the mean handedness scores nor between the distribution of scores.
