A Tablet App for Handwriting Skill Screening at the Preliteracy Stage: Instrument Validation Study
Background Difficulties in handwriting, such as dysgraphia, impact several aspects of a child’s everyday life. Current methodologies for the detection of such difficulties in children have the following three main weaknesses: (1) they are prone to ...

This study explores aerosol jet‐printed (AJP) surface roughness, its effects on the performance of microwave electronics, and its process contributors. First, an electromagnetic model is vetted for AJP's unique roughness signature. Simulations are built which show process‐induced roughness is as significant as conductor resistivity in driving microwave

Controlling the size and distribution of dispersoids is essential for optimizing the performance of oxide‐dispersion‐strengthened steels. This study focuses on nanoparticle dispersion and agglomeration during laser additive manufacturing of Fe20Cr alloy reinforced with ZrO 2 nanoparticles. Utilizing multiphysics phase‐field simulations and nanoparticle

It has long been a widely accepted fact—especially among patients, nurses, and pharmacists—that doctors have far worse handwriting than most other so called learned professionals. Recent studies have largely confirmed this popular belief, one such study (1979) finding that 16% of doctors wrote quite illegibly and that another 17% were barely legible.

The influence of oxide nanoparticle synthesis route and concentration on microstructure and high‐temperature performance of additively manufactured oxide dispersion‐strengthened steels is investigated. Comparing laser‐generated and chemically synthesized ZrO2 nanoparticles, the study reveals how dispersion quality, crystal structure and particle size ...

The handwriting brain in middle-childhood.
While the brain network supporting handwriting has previously been defined in adults, its organization in children has never been investigated. We compared the handwriting network of 23 adults and 42 children (8 to 11 year old).

Additive manufacturing technologies like laser powder‐bed fusion offer great design freedom and individualization of products down to a batch size of one. However, parts fabricated with this technology suffer from poor quality. Acoustic assistance during the build process can minimize these drawbacks.
