Automatic Handwriting Identification on Medieval Documents
In this paper, we evaluate the performance of text-independent writer identification methods on a handwriting dataset containing medieval English documents. Applicable identification rates are achieved by combining textural features (joint directional probability distributions) with allographic features (grapheme-emission distributions).

HANDWRITING-BASED PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION
International Journal of Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence, 2006Handwriting-based personal identification, which is also called handwriting-based writer identification, is an active research topic in pattern recognition. Despite continuous effort, offline handwriting-based writer identification still remains as a challenging problem because writing features can only be extracted from the handwriting image.

Feature Selection for Forensic Handwriting Identification
2013 12th International Conference on Document Analysis and Recognition, 2013Current paper describes the use of a feature selection technique to reduce the number of features while the goodness set is selected on a framework for forensic handwriting identification. A sequential forward search and an evaluation criterion based on dependency were used to obtain a goodness subset (GS) to improve the identification rate.

Handwriting Identification of Short Historical Manuscripts
2018 13th IAPR International Workshop on Document Analysis Systems (DAS), 2018The study of historical documents is an important and complex branch of document analysis. Ancient manuscripts are often altered by time or environmental conditions and the availability of large data sets is not always guaranteed. In this work, we propose a new solution for the attribution of short historical documents based on both allographic and ...

Offline handwriting segmentation for writer identification
2014 International Symposium on Biometrics and Security Technologies (ISBAST), 2014In this paper we present a new technique for off-line text-independent handwriting analysis based on segmentation. Segmentation is a common step used in different research works in order to generate connected components that will be processed to extract features (geometry, concavity etc.).
