Collocated Geotechnical and Geophysical Test Dataset at Three Sites in Napier, New Zealand

open access: yesEarthquake Spectra, Volume 42, Issue 4, November 2026.
Reliable assessment of liquefaction hazard, particularly in the context of groundwater fluctuations associated with hydroclimatic changes and variability between liquefaction assessment methods, necessitates supplementary data and advanced site characterization methods.

Effectiveness of Family‐Focused End of Life and Bereavement Interventions Across Neonatal, Paediatric, and Adult Intensive Care: An Overview of Reviews

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Nursing, Volume 35, Issue 11, Page 4761-4780, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Intensive Care Units (ICUs) care for critically ill patients across all age groups, with many deaths occurring during or shortly after admission. For families, this can be associated with significant psychological distress, including prolonged grief, depression, and post‐traumatic stress.

Harnessing Phase Dynamics Across Diverse Frequencies with Multifrequency Oscillatory Neural Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, Volume 2, Issue 5, October 2026.
Oscillatory Neural Networks (ONNs) are an emerging computing paradigm that encodes information in the phases of coupled oscillators. Traditionally, ONNs have been investigated using homogeneous frequency oscillators. However, physical hardware implementations are inherently subject to frequency mismatches, device variability, and nonuniformities.

Phantom citations: An empirical study of non‐existent and unverifiable references in scholarly literature

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, Volume 77, Issue 10, Page 1287-1316, October 2026.
Abstract The integrity of scholarly communication depends critically on the accuracy and verifiability of cited references. Citations enable readers to trace prior work, assess evidence, and situate new contributions within the existing literature. However, concerns have emerged regarding the presence of references in published papers that cannot be ...

Bi4Ti2.85Zr0.15O12/Nb: SrTiO3‐Based Artificial Optic Neuron for Synaptic Plasticity Simulation and Light‐Controlled Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesMaterials Genome Engineering Advances, Volume 4, Issue 4, October 2026.
An optoelectronic synapse based on Zr‐doped Bi4Ti3O12 exhibits learning/forgetting mimicry and achieves 94.2% accuracy on MNIST, demonstrating a novel pathway for high‐performance neuromorphic computing. ABSTRACT This study enhanced the optoelectronic properties of BIT (Bi4Ti3O12) through Zr doping at the B site, constructing an Au/Bi4Ti2.85Zr0.15O12 ...

Quantum Spectral Clustering Framework via Compact Circuit Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, Volume 9, Issue 10, October 2026.
Can a quantum computer cluster data without ever reading the full kernel? This work shows that compact, parameterized circuits estimate the Laplacian quadratic forms directly and perform clustering, without explicitly constructing the full quantum fidelity‐kernel matrix.

Light‐Synergistic Enhanced Synaptic Devices Toward Superadditive In‐Sensor Computing

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Conventional neuromorphic devices face challenges in achieving efficient integration of light sensing and synaptic computation because of structural and material limitations. In this work, we developed an indium‐tin‐zinc oxide/transparent gelatin electrolyte synaptic transistor incorporating rare metal indium.
