Contrasting roles of school and public libraries in lower primary pupils' reading

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, Volume 52, Issue 5, Page 3296-3321, October 2026.
Abstract Libraries represent an important institutional component of children's reading socialisation, yet their role is often treated as uniform despite substantial differences between school and public libraries. This study examines how visits to school and public libraries relate to pupils' reading attitudes, practices and self‐assessed reading ...

Critical Thinking Emulation Model With Outcomes‐Based Assessment

open access: yesJournal of Dental Education, Volume 90, Issue 10, Page 1586-1594, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background/Purpose Gaps exist between critical thinking importance and an organized agenda for the development of critical thinking learning outcomes. Multiple critical thinking skill sets were developed by the authors, forming a symbiotic network.

Interleaved Diffractive Networks for Information Transfer Through Random Diffusers

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, Volume 20, Issue 20, 21 October 2026.
This work presents a cascaded diffractive optical network that enables information transfer through random, unknown diffusers using passive, interleaved structured layers that mitigate scattering without digital computation. A hybrid optical‐digital version further improves robustness and reconstruction fidelity under distortions, with both simulations

Bi4Ti2.85Zr0.15O12/Nb: SrTiO3‐Based Artificial Optic Neuron for Synaptic Plasticity Simulation and Light‐Controlled Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesMaterials Genome Engineering Advances, Volume 4, Issue 4, October 2026.
An optoelectronic synapse based on Zr‐doped Bi4Ti3O12 exhibits learning/forgetting mimicry and achieves 94.2% accuracy on MNIST, demonstrating a novel pathway for high‐performance neuromorphic computing. ABSTRACT This study enhanced the optoelectronic properties of BIT (Bi4Ti3O12) through Zr doping at the B site, constructing an Au/Bi4Ti2.85Zr0.15O12 ...

Quantum Spectral Clustering Framework via Compact Circuit Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, Volume 9, Issue 10, October 2026.
Can a quantum computer cluster data without ever reading the full kernel? This work shows that compact, parameterized circuits estimate the Laplacian quadratic forms directly and perform clustering, without explicitly constructing the full quantum fidelity‐kernel matrix.
