Synthesis and Evaluation of Trehalose‐Based Mertansine Warheads for BCG Delivery of Anti‐Cancer Agents

open access: yesChemBioChem, Accepted Article.
Non‐muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) accounts for 75% of bladder cancer cases, with Bacillus Calmette‐Guérin (BCG) immunotherapy as the gold standard for high‐risk patients. BCG elicits a robust immune response but is limited by adverse effects and resistance. To enhance its efficacy, we developed a trehalose‐based conjugation strategy, tethering

Heterogeneous Electrocatalytic CO2 Reduction by Supported Molecular Catalysts Well Dispersed on Electrode Surface

open access: yesChemElectroChem, EarlyView.
This mini review overviews the most recent advances (2020–2024) in heterogeneous electrocatalytic CO2R by well‐dispersed molecular catalysts on electrode surface, mainly focusing on the impacts of efficient molecule‐level dispersion and rational catalyst‐support interactions on electronic properties, multi‐electron transfer kinetics, and overall ...

Spotting LLMs With Binoculars: Zero-Shot Detection of Machine-Generated Text [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Detecting text generated by modern large language models is thought to be hard, as both LLMs and humans can exhibit a wide range of complex behaviors. However, we find that a score based on contrasting two closely related language models is highly accurate at separating human-generated and machine-generated text.

From Nanoparticles to Single Crystals of Al‐MOFs: Synergistic Coordination and pH Modulation, and Rapid Sorption Kinetics Assessment by Optical Calorimetry

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
High‐throughput studies were carried out to elucidate the synergistic effects of coordination modulation and pH modulation on the crystal size of different Al‐MOFs, resulting in nanoparticles as well as large crystals (dmax ≈ 0.1 µm – 800 µm). In addition, the influence of particle size on CO2 sorption properties was investigated, showing increasing ...

Be like a Goldfish, Don't Memorize! Mitigating Memorization in Generative LLMs [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Large language models can memorize and repeat their training data, causing privacy and copyright risks. To mitigate memorization, we introduce a subtle modification to the next-token training objective that we call the goldfish loss. During training, randomly sampled subsets of tokens are excluded from the loss computation. These dropped tokens are not

Monitoring Nanostructural Dynamics During the Electrochemical Growth of Metal Hydroxide Thin Films by in‐situ Small‐Angle X‐Ray Scattering

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, EarlyView.
We present a custom‐built electrochemical flow cell for in‐house real‐time small‐angle X‐ray scattering (SAXS) experiments to monitor the electrocrystallization of nanoscale Co(OH)2 platelets tracking their growth from 7.8 nm to 15.7 nm thickness. Citrate ligands initially stabilize spherical structures, transitioning to platelet morphologies as the ...
