O gnosticismo antigo e o existencialismo contemporâneo

A Network Perspective on Attitude Strength: Testing the Connectivity Hypothesis [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Attitude strength is a key characteristic of attitudes. Strong attitudes are durable and impactful, while weak attitudes are fluctuating and inconsequential. Recently, the Causal Attitude Network (CAN) model was proposed as a comprehensive measurement model of attitudes, which conceptualizes attitudes as networks of causally connected evaluative ...

Rigid Macroporous Wood Microparticles Impart Universality and Scalability to Lightweight Foam Insulation

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, EarlyView.
Rigid, lightweight foams for thermal insulation are produced using a universal and scalable method: results are compared between pilot plant trials, four wood residues, pulp, ocean water, and a biosurfactant. Two guidelines for using this method are suggested: use a distribution of rigid wood microparticle sizes and shapes and match the average ...

Hans Jonas and the Ethics of Human Subjects Research [PDF]

open access: yesHastings Center Report, 2020
AbstractIn the 1960s, human experimentation and public funding of research increased significantly, and with the rise of the modern teaching hospital, the distinction between clinical care and experimentation became more and more blurred. Yet little in the way of meaningful government regulation existed in the United States prior to 1970. In 1966, Paul

Self‐Maintainable Electronic Materials with Skin‐Like Characteristics Enabled by Graphene‐PEDOT:PSS Fillers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Graphene‐PEDOT:PSS fillers revolutionize soft electronics by transforming jelly‐like materials into skin‐like systems with self‐healing, heat‐responsiveness, and multiplex sensing capabilities. This novel material exhibits exceptional printability, flexibility, and adhesiveness, enabling seamless integration into bioelectronics and tissue‐cyborganic ...

Development of an Organoautocatalyzed Double σ‐Bond C(sp2)‐N Transamination Metathesis Reaction

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Organoautocatalyzed transamination metathesis of cyclic tertiary amines is disclosed as a high‐yielding, scalable reaction that proceeds under mild, catalyst‐free conditions. It operates via a multi‐step domino reaction mechanism, where an in situ‐formed pyrrolidinium salt functions as a HBD organoautocatalyst.

The Notion of Power in Hans Jonas’ Das Prinzip Verantwortung (The Imperative of Responsibility)

open access: yesRevista de Filosofia, 2020
The questions concerning control over the environment are becoming increasingly more significant. From ecology to medicine, from bioethics to transhumanism, there are many different issues reflected and acted upon, which have an important common element,

Unveiling Surface Species Formed on Ni‐Fe Spinel Oxides During the Oxygen Evolution Reaction at the Atomic Scale

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
≈1 nm thick amorphous layer with a higher oxygen concentration is formed on the surfaces of pristine P‐doped NiFe2O4 and activated NiFe2O4. Such surface layer is thought to significantly promote the charge transfer kinetics compared to the oxyhydroxide layer grown on Ni1.5Fe1.5O4 during the oxygen evolution reaction. Abstract Optimizing electrocatalyst

Circulating TREM2 as a noninvasive diagnostic biomarker for NASH in patients with elevated liver stiffness

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract Background and Aims Reliable noninvasive biomarkers are an unmet clinical need for the diagnosis of NASH. This study investigates the diagnostic accuracy of the circulating triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2 (plasma TREM2) as a biomarker for NASH in patients with NAFLD and elevated liver stiffness.
