Hantaviruses and Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome, Maranhão, Brazil
To confirm circulation of Anajatuba virus in Maranhão, Brazil, we conducted a serologic survey (immunoglobulin G ELISA) and phylogenetic studies (nucleocapsid gene sequences) of hantaviruses from wild rodents and persons with hantavirus pulmonary ...

Hantavirus is Associated With Open Developed Areas and Arid Climates, Highlighting Increased Risk in the Western United States. [PDF]
In the United States, hantaviruses can cause hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS) in humans, an acute respiratory illness with a high mortality rate. Most people contract HPS from exposure to infected rodent excrement. The interannual dynamics of hantavirus transmission are tied to both environmental and human‐related factors, including changes in ...

The respiratory tract is primarily infected by SARS‐CoV‐2. The primary cause of mortality for COVID‐19 was acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), which can be brought on by a lung infection. This review we mainly discuss the mechanism that favor NETosis in COVID‐19 immune pulmonary thrombosis, as well as the potential targeting of NETs in COVID‐19

Abstract There is growing evidence to suggest that severe disease in children infected with common viruses that are typically benign in other children can result from inborn errors of immunity or their phenocopies. Infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2), a cytolytic respiratory RNA virus, can lead to acute hypoxemic

Hantavirus Reservoir Hosts Associated with Peridomestic Habitats in Argentina
Five species of sigmodontine rodents have been identified in Argentina as the putative reservoirs of six circulating hantavirus genotypes. Two species of Oligoryzomys are associated with the genotypes causing hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, Oligoryzomys ...
