Haploporus mugilis sp. n. (Digenea: Haploporidae) from Valamugil engeli (Pisces: Mugilidae) in the Taiwan Straits, China [PDF]

open access: yesFolia Parasitologica, 2002
Haploporus mugilis sp. n. (Digenea: Haploporidae) was obtained from the intestine of kandas, Valamugil engeli (Bleeker) (Mugilidae, Perciformes) in the Taiwan Straits, China. It most closely resembles Haploporus spinosus Machida, 1996 from the intestine of Crenimugil crenilabis in Japanese and adjacent waters in the intestinal bifurcation posterior to ...

Revalidation of Saccocoelioides bacilliformis (Digenea, Haploporidae) parasitizing species of Astyanax (Characiformes, Characidae) from southern Brazil [PDF]

open access: yesIheringia - Serie Zoologia, 2019
ABSTRACT In Argentina, Saccocoelioides bacilliformis Szidat, 1973 was described from specimens collected probably in Astyanax bimaculatus (Linnaeus, 1758), but latter it was synonymyzed with Saccocoelioides octavus Szidat, 1970. During the examination of digenetic trematodes collected in different species of Astyanax Baird & Girard, 1854 from ...

Interrelationships of the Haploporinae (Digenea: Haploporidae): A molecular test of the taxonomic framework based on morphology

Parasitology International, 2009
The taxonomic framework of the Haploporidae is evaluated and the relationships within the Haploporinae are assessed for the first time at the generic level using molecular data. Partial 28S and complete ITS2 rDNA sequences from representatives of six of the nine recognised genera within the Haploporinae were analysed together with published sequences ...

A New Species ofIntromugil(Digenea: Haploporidae) and Redescription ofIntromugil mugilicolus

Journal of Parasitology, 2013
Intromugil alachuaensis n. sp. is described based on specimens collected from the flathead grey mullet ( Mugil cephalus ) from the Santa Fe River in Florida. The new species is the fourth recognized species in the genus and the second from North America, with the other 2 being confined to South America.

Molecular genetic characterization of the Far Eastern trematode Skrjabinolecithum spasskii, Belous, 1954 (Digenea: Haploporidae), a parasite of mullets

Molecular Biology, 2015
Intraspecific genetic differentiation of the trematode Skrjabinolecithum spasskii and its phylogenetic relationships with other species of the family Haploporidae were studied by comparing the nucleotide sequences of a part of the 28S rRNA gene and the ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 rDNA region.

A Cercaria of the Trematode Family Haploporidae

The Journal of Parasitology, 1962
Cercaria caribbea LII is described and evidence presented that it is the larva of a haploporid, probably Hapladena varia. The cercaria develops in simple rediae in Zebina browniana and encysts in the open. It is biocellate, the tail is slender and unadorned, and the excretory system is stenostomate with a nonepithelial bladder and primary pores at the ...
